If you're playing Black Ops 6 on console, try changing your "Aim Response Curve" to "Dynamic". Fun facts: Most first-person console games use a simple power curve to make thumbstick aiming easier. E.g. the turn speed is proportional to x^p, where x is the raw stick input from -1 to 1, and p is a number somewhere between 1 and 2. See the yellow curve in the thumbnail below. The problem with a power curve is that you have to move the stick pretty far to get a meaningful response, so it wastes input space and feels unresponsive. Once you do reach a useful response, the curve rapidly increases, which makes it difficult to get a predictable change in output relative to change in input, making it difficult to control the turning speed. With a power curve, most of the input space results in either turning super slow or super fast. On the other hand, a linear response curve (green line) provides an immediate tangible response, but no enhanced control in the mid-range. An expert with incredible fine-motor skills might actually benefit from this, but for most players a linear response will feel "slippery" and require extra concentration. So, the "Dynamic" response curve (which kind of resembles the blue curve below, but not exactly) strikes a balance. It provides an immediate response like linear, but adds mid-range control. Effectively it gives players slow, medium, and fast control, while also wasting less input space, therefore feeling snappier and better all-around. Tea Time ☕: This was first introduced by Raven Software in WW2 (2017), but the UI change ironically only made it into the PC version (due to UI backlogs on the console side). We still collected data about gamepad usage on PC though, and nearly every player who tried the "Balanced" response curve (as it was called at the time) stuck with it. 🤓 Despite the data, Treyarch declined to include Response Curve options with Black Ops 4 (2018). 😐 It wasn't until Modern Warfare (2019), after 2.5 years of petitioning, that the Balanced aim response curve -- rebranded to "Dynamic" by Infinity Ward -- became an option for console players. 🎮 Despite the data, and the vast majority of pro players having switched to Dynamic in MW, Treyarch declined to include it in Black Ops Cold War (2020). 🙄 After community pressure, Treyarch added the Dynamic Response Curve a few weeks post-launch (2020), and the most casually overlooked core gameplay option has been in every title ever since. 🌇 🌈 🦄

I am currently working on setting up a new computer for a client, and the keyboard almost gave me an epileptic seizure. (Settle down sports fans, we do some PC work as well). This MSI gaming laptop lights up like a Lite-Brite, (for those old enough to remember what those were). As you can see, not only would it cycle through different colors, but every time you touched any of the keys, they would change colors as well. This is a total sensory overload. When I had enough of the light show, I had to figure out how to turn the colors off. Luckily it didn’t take long. Some people might enjoy the disco lights, but now you know why I’m a Mac man. But, outside of the keyboard, this PC is pretty cool. I attended the demo day yesterday. If I summarize the most common questions from publishers and investors, they are as follows and clearly outline their minimum expectations for 2024: - Mobile game: What is your D1 retention? - PC/Console: Do you have a build?
