I’m happy to announce what Hanne Bjerringfelt, Arense Warny, Kamille Prætorius, and I have been working on these past few weeks. In collaboration with SPOT Festival we’re presenting the format ‘The Solutions’ @ Palmehaven this year. It will include a panel discussion as well as 3 beautiful and intimate performances from rising stars. It has been a pleasure curating a panel of young professionals who already have made their mark on the industry! Arthur Green, Arense Warny, Benjamin Graham and Emilie Pil will discuss, reflect upon and explore solutions in the fields of mental health, financial sustainability and diversity in a conversation moderated by Anni M. Nguyen. During the past few years a lot of intersectional issues within the industry have been brought to light. Many times we’ve all sat in rooms with people discussing all of these challenges, and finally we’ve acknowledged that they’re there. As young industry players, we all feel a strong responsibility to be and create the change that we want to see. Hence, we want to create a framework wherein we can make room for solution-orientated conversations. Of course we acknowledge that we’re building upon what others before us have created. Therefore, we wish to continue the progression towards a more sustainable industry. The Solutions is dedicated to give a platform to younger voices, the future of the industry, you could say - and we hope that this conversation will be a small step towards an industry that we all want to work in and be a part of for many generations to come. Please join us if you’re interested in listening to the younger generation’s perspectives and are curious about actual solutions.

How Much Work Do We Do for Free? The Well HQ team have a lot of requests come through to speak at events, on panels and at conferences, which is incredible. We love being able to spread the word about female health and it's brilliant to be in front of a live audience. Generally we have to make a business decision as to whether it's worth us going, we rarely get paid to talk at events and so we weigh up as a team whether this is a good opportunity for us or not. However what's not cool - is finding out that you're being paid less than others of comparable value at an event or not being paid at all. This is a call out to all event organisers - who are you paying? are you paying men more? are you paying more men than women? is there transparency and do people know what the deal is? The video below is a brilliant example of this being played out live in a news interview where Moya Lothian McLean realises that she's not being paid, but Laurence fox is. https://lnkd.in/e-49rSw7

More than a third of people can think of very few or no ways that investment in R&D has improved their lives. This was one of the findings from Campaign for Science and Engineering's public opinion research that really struck me - it shows that there is so much more we can do as a sector to highlight the breadth of R&D taking place and all the benefits it brings. Enter CaSE's 'Research Develop Thrive' campaign! No matter which part of the research system you work in, this initiative is for you! This campaign aims to help unify and promote academic and industry research to build a stronger public profile for the R&D sector and make R&D matter to more people. If you're interested in finding out more and getting involved: 🌐 Check out the campaign website https://lnkd.in/eKyyQwKD 📅 Join our webinar on Monday 2nd December 11:00 AM https://lnkd.in/eYrnABRB
At CaSE, we want to make R&D matter to more people across society. Our extensive public opinion data shows that R&D has low public visibility and many people don’t see how it benefits their lives. But if our sector can explain R&D’s presence in communities and its purpose, we can attract new supporters. CaSE has launched Research Develop Thrive, a campaign designed to bring together the sector to promote the positive impact of R&D. https://lnkd.in/eKyyQwKD 📆Join us for a webinar on Monday 2nd December to find out more about the campaign and how you can get involved. https://lnkd.in/eYrnABRB
