Funny- We've all felt like this. Would be interested to know what percentage of CallBacks are received on Net New, Cold clients based on outbounds that lead to actual meetings VS. those outbound calls that connect with new prospects who happen to pick up leading to a meeting? I would be shocked if the Call Backs are even at 2%.

Maybe take said Prospect at their word when they state I will speak to you before any orders are placed !!

That looks like Alien remains..didn't know Sales reps go extra terrestrial waiting for callbacks too..Good one!
