Are you balancing Average Speed to Answer times #ASA with #resource? That old industry chestnut! If so, you’re certainly not alone! This week Red Recruitment has been doing some research for a large retail #contactcentre on ASA, leading me to some particularly interesting conversations! Certainly not a new topic, far from it, but still an important one for debate given the current focus on business efficiency V’s CX. Where is the industries’ Eutopia? That depends on your call, customer and industry type. Here’s the general consensus from the industry leaders that I’ve spoken to over the last week: ✅ fFocus is on our own centre’s call type and customer expectations, industry standards are far less of a concern ✅ The wait time at which abandonment rates suddenly rise is closely monitored and evidently this varies massively depending on call type ✅ Workforce Planning too often get the blame for disappointing ASA in this volatile and unpredictable customer market place ✅ Headcount V’s ASA & CX has a constant focus and a constant place on SLT agendas ✅ Acceptable’ ASAs ranged from 60 seconds to 5 minutes. 32% were at 4 minutes plus ✅ 24% of those that Red spoke to felt they are over resourced and too efficient right now with room for greater eggiciency and longer wait times. The majority of these are carrying on at these levels to be prepared for expected peaks ✅ 76% are busy trying to increase resource or reduce call traffic to tackle ASA times and adandoment rates that are too high and hurting both CX and business results ✅ No one mentioned 80/20 or Erlang - sign of the times? 😀 Of course I will link this to #recruitment and Red’s services! In a survey of staffing leaders and recruiters—conducted in partnership between ClearEdge and Staffing Hub—we delved into the data to understand their current operations. One interesting finding was the biggest opportunities for driving growth in 2024. The responses highlighted adopting technology, focusing on the candidate experience, and returning to business basics. Setting up recruitment KPIs 📊 where there are none? Some tips. 1️⃣ 𝗢𝗻𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺. First and foremost: if you walk into the room and announce "From today on we will be focusing on data" you won't go very far. Get the buy-in of your team, brainstorm extensively with them on why KPIs matter and never forget to give praise and recognition throughout the transition to a more data-informed mindset. 2️⃣ 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲. Even Big Corps sometimes lack basic tracking and reporting tooling. If that's the case, start with a simple mix of ATS tracking functionalities and shared working sheets. Secure some success first. Once the business starts to see the value in what you and your team do, you may have a chance to request more/better tools. 3️⃣ 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰𝘀. You were planning to introduce a set of 10 complex metrics from day 1? Think again. KPIs are an instrument to solve concrete issues, not a way to show the company how good you and your team are at Maths.
