📘 Must-Read for Aircraft Maintenance Professionals ✈️ I recently had the pleasure of diving into "Aircraft Maintenance Program", a book that has truly elevated my understanding of the intricate world of aircraft maintenance. Authored by David Lapesa Barrera, this comprehensive resource breaks down complex topics with clarity and depth, making it an invaluable guide for anyone in our field. 🔍✍️ For those looking to go even further, I’m excited to share that David Lapesa Barrera is also launching a course based on the book! This upcoming course promises advanced insights that could benefit both newcomers and seasoned professionals alike. 🌟 https://lnkd.in/dQf3A3mv If you're passionate about deepening your expertise or refining your skills, I can't recommend this book—and soon, the course—enough. It's not every day you come across such a well-rounded resource in our field. 📚💼

Hello everyone, Today, I won't talk about technical or human factor issues. I just want to talk about the happiness our work brings us and what it leads to. Aircraft maintenance engineers like myself especially rejoice as if they've scored a last-minute goal in the World Cup final when they solve a challenging and difficult fault. Sometimes they don't show it, but their hearts are filled with joy. Sometimes, they celebrate with tea or coffee. What I've described is the happiness on our side, the ones doing the job and approving flights. But what about those we make happy?! Our colleagues, team leaders, our own MCC, our managers, the MCC of the company we serve, the company itself, cabin and cockpit crew, operations officers, ground handling staff, thousands of people waiting for their cargo thousands of kilometers away, and our valued passengers. In fact, the root cause of what makes us happy is the awareness of making so many people happy, both those I've listed and those I haven't. The other reason is seeing that what we do with procedures, our experience, and our team works when everyone wonders how this flying machine is flying. I wish all my colleagues many happy days where AOG faults are solved in your hands and we remove plenty of INOP placards. Regards 🌍✈️🛠️☺️ #aircraftmechanic #aircraftengineer #aircraftmaintenance #airbus #boeing #engineering #happiness

It is rediculux, man doesn’t learn nothing with there mistakes. 1- man didn’t learn nothing with craches of Germanwings and other sad examples. One man on flight deck is a potential coffin aircraft. 2- why they keep second control seats on flight deck? Stupid idea. 3- imagine the pilot get seek, who takes the control??? 4- are we forgetting that we are human and can have bad times??? 5- imagine the pilot get diarrhea in critical moments , it will be very bad smell shit moments . Conclusion: I am, and I don’t allow my families to get inside of that kind aircraft because someone got that idea when was shifting in toilet.

Using a potty at the controls of a $200 million aircraft with 350 people on board, like my children did at the age of 1: brilliant. Letting me have no one to share my ideas with, correct my mistakes and support me in dealing with my emotions: genius. Now, tell me one thing: how will the new captains of these aircrafts be trained when the current generation of captains are no longer there? I guess it’s needed a bit more than a potty and a smart computer to prepare a pilot for the job… “Experience is irreplaceable”

If you’ve ever spent time around an aircraft mechanic, you know the proliferation of stories they can tell. Just ask Mia Scarbrough. It is as if they have a bottomless reservoir from which to draw. ✒ At Delta Air Lines in the early 90s, the mechanics began every story with “back at the old terminal me and Stumpy Burdett …” The stories all end similarly: “and we signed her off just before pushback.” Oddly, you never hear the same story twice, at least not precisely as before. Somehow, the embellishments grew over time, the sun shone hotter, the jet flew faster, or the Lead yelled louder. IFYKYK. In my latest column for FLYING Magazine, we honor those A&P storytellers and highlight their contributions to the field of aircraft maintenance. 🛩 Under the pen name Isak Dinesen, Karen Blixen offers this insight about storytelling: “All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story or tell a story about them.” Aircraft maintenance is hard work. AMTs put in long hours, often in extreme conditions, and with little fanfare. In the end, everyone wants someone to hear their voice. 🗯 Thanks to Suresh Narayanan, CEO of Jets MRO, Stacey Rudser at AWAM, Paul Hendrickson, author of Fighting the Night, and the team at Commemorative Air Force Airbase Georgia for their collaboration. I am honored to help tell your story. What is your favorite airplane story? Let me know in the comments. 👍 #engage #educate #influence #aviationmaintenance #aviation #aircraftmaintenance #piper #aviationlovers #aviationdaily #airplane #aircraftmechanic #storytelling #beechcraft #aircraft #mooney #instagramaviation #instaaviation #burntheships #pilot #mro #aviationmechanic #aviationphotography #aerospaceengineering #aviationnews #stories #kingair #cessna #veterans #job #pilotlife #garmin #transitioning https://lnkd.in/ef54behW

As an airline pilot you should seriously consider this possibility like you would a dual engine fire on a twin engine jet. You never expect that to happen but someday it could. That’s why pilots should become major stockholders in their airline. As owners of a majority or controlling stake in their airline they would be perfectly situated to block this single pilot nonsense from ever happening at their airline. Otherwise, get ready to be POTTY TRAINED again so you can comply with FAR 911.
