An estimated 4.2 million Australian adults (one in five) have experienced violence, emotional abuse or economic abuse by a partner. Women are more likely than men to have experienced violence, emotional abuse, or economic abuse by a partner since the age of 15. To help break the silence on domestic violence in Australia, the The Lisa Harnum Foundation Purple Nail Tribe is encouraging men to take an active part in ending this national epidemic by initiating a much-needed dialogue. The Benevolent Society’s team in Tamworth have been helping raise awareness amongst the local community and promoting this important conversation.
