This is the no. 1 reason people are not approaching you: People don't know what you do. This is the 2nd reason people : People don't know where / how to find you. Today, I’d like to share my step-by-step guide on how to create a background image that converts 👇 1️⃣ 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀 / 𝘄𝗲𝗯𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 - be clear, concise and make it as easy as possible to find you. 2️⃣ 𝗛𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗿 / 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 – Whenever our graphic designer is off sick, I use Canva, an easy-to-use design tool with many customisable templates. While design tools, such as Canva, are cost-effective and user-friendly, if you’re looking for the ultimate professional LinkedIn banner that reflects your brand and business, outsource. It might cost more in the short term, but the unique and professional results can significantly enhance your profile. 3️⃣ 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 – Once you’re happy with the design, ensure the image is high-resolution and adheres to the recommended dimensions (1584 x 396 for personal profiles and 1128 x 191 for company profiles). Remember to review your banner on different devices to ensure it displays correctly on desktop and mobile. 4️⃣ 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗦𝗘𝗢 – Once uploaded, you also need to optimise your new LinkedIn banner for search engines. To do this, incorporate relevant keywords into the file name that align with your professional skills and industry, e.g. financial-analyst.jpeg. No more city skylines ;) Has this made you rethink your banner?! ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ For further insights into effective LinkedIn marketing & training strategies, please follow my updates by pressing the 🔔 on my profile. Melanie Goodman Very nice guide on enhancing LinkedIn profiles. How effective have you found these steps in practice? Thx.
Really important points Melanie Goodman. It’s easy to forget it’s what our intended audience sees that makes all the difference.
I wish that LinkedIn had an auto save function. As I always save Melanie Goodman LinkedIn posts it would be faster. As always, Thank you for sharing.
Super Tips and I am renaming my banner jpg immediately. One thing that really annoys me with LinkedIn is that it moves your headshot depending on the context of where your banner appears. I guess the coder 20 plus years ago thought it was a good idea. Have a great Friday Melanie
The file naming is such an ace tip Melanie Goodman, easy to find for robots. Easy for screen readers to read for the blind. Win-win.
I like to think of the banner as your personal billboard. What will make the next visitor to your profile slow down and actually read your content? Take the steps Melanie Goodman provides to enhance your professional image with a compelling banner. Thanks, Melanie.
I never knew about incorporating relevant keywords into the file name that aligns with my professional skills and industry. Saved for action! Thank you Melanie Goodman
