Today is World Mental Health Day. As a mental health first aider, mental health is something I don't take lightly and make room for every day. A designated day is crucial for raising awareness, but unless you have mental health as a priority and on the agenda in your day to day, it's kind of pointless. I am someone that suffers from mental health, daily. It's changeable, like everything is in life. One day you wake up on the right side of bed, the next day you still wake up on the right side of bed but you feel different about things. The ground beneath you doesn't feel as solid as it normally does, your inner voice that's usually so good at drowning out the noise can sometimes amplify negative belief cycles that can be crippling and unhelpful to even make it out of bed. When you're suffering from mental health, it can be hard to recognise when other people are going through similar issues. I offer my support where I can, and I know that I have it in return because I have amazing friends, family and I work for an employer The Executive Coaching Consultancy that cares for its people. That's not to be taken lightly and I feel incredibly lucky and supported. I would like to invite anyone who also shares mental health worries, to recognise that it's okay to be vulnerable. Sometimes being vulnerable can lead to helpful outcomes, especially if you decide to share your deepest concerns with the right people around you. I'm here for and with anyone that wants to chat and feels alone or helpless. On my personal channels, I share this kind of messaging and open dialogue around mental health often. I share windows into dark days, and good days. Which form part of the fabric of life, and sometimes I don't like those materials but it doesn't mean they don't exist. Talking about it, It's on my agenda.. And so, on a day where we are to raise awareness on it - I'll do a post on my LinkedIn not to virtue signal, but because it's all about awareness, and knowing that you're not alone. #mentalhealth #wellbeing #support

What's your Mental Health Strategy? If you don't have one, or if the one you do have isn't working, use mental health awareness month as a call to action. Reflect on your recent habits, feelings, and communication styles. Are they representative of how you want to show up in this world? I challenge you to start creating your own Mental Health Strategy by intentionally reflecting on how you are truly doing mental health wise. How is it impacting your personal power? Your well-being? Take action by putting together a daily routine that will put you in the right state of mind and move you through the obstacles and challenges you face. Mental Health to me is the ability to be ok with it ALL - the ups, the downs, and the in-betweens - the honoring of life as the great movement of all that is. And being ok with it. I teach Mental Health Strategies that are brain based and backed by evidence - in other words - they work. #MentalHealth #MentalHealthMonth #TakeCareofYourself #Selfcare
