As well as our core funding, we have a pot of money dedicated to 'Emergency Funding'. This was created in 2022 to address immediate and significant need within the Yorkshire region or efforts by Yorkshire based organisations to address international/national crises. Applications for this funding need not be within the 4 focus areas and do not need to demonstrate impact across our key strands. Examples might include food banks, children in crises, relief for environmental events. As March is B Corp month we wanted to share an update on Meadow Mission, an initiative that was born out of the accreditation process. Since 2021 we've donated 2% of turnover to create wildflower meadows, a vital habitat for bees with our charity partner Plantlife International. To date, with our customers help, we’ve planted over 20 acres! We've lost 98% of our wildflower meadows since the 1940's which is a vital habitat for honey bees as well as many other invertebrates, mammals, bats, and birds. Meadows also store carbon. There is some research suggesting that a flower-full meadow can store 30% more carbon than a flower-less meadow. As Black Bee Honey grows and requires more honey we need to ensure there's more biodiversity to support the bees producing it. Did you know? Environmental nonprofits are receiving less than 2% of charitable dollars! Out of $471 billion donated to nonprofits in 2020, only $8 billion went towards environmental causes. It's time to prioritize our planet! Let's support organizations dedicated to conservation, wildlife protection, and land trusts. Every little bit counts towards a greener, healthier future for all. #EarthWeek #SaveThePlanet #EnvironmentalJustice #SupportGreenCauses #RedstartCreative #MarylandNonProfits #MarketingForNonProfits

Support Australia’s Wildlife Carers Australia's native animals urgently need our care. Over 1,000 dedicated carers are tirelessly providing medical attention to these animals, often without government support. This leaves them at high risk of burnout. It's time we came together to support these selfless heroes. At Medical Pantry, we are deeply committed to aiding these incredible carers. Guided by our experienced board and passionate volunteers, we’ve developed a proven model for rescuing surplus medical supplies and delivering them to those in need. In the past 13 years, we’ve successfully donated 15,000 tonnes of supplies to 80 organisations worldwide. Thanks to Hatch’s support, we’ve recently launched a new program and onboarded 20 new partners. With these efforts, we estimate that we can save 40,000 animals each year. Our vision is to provide free medical supplies to all carers across Australia, ensuring they have the resources they need to continue their vital work. However, to turn this vision into reality, we need your support. We aim to expand our capacity with a larger warehouse and bring on dedicated staff to support our volunteers. Your contribution can make a significant impact on both the lives of carers and the animals they protect. Join us in making a difference. #SupportCarers #WildlifeConservation #MedicalPantry #HealthForAll #NonProfit #AnimalWelfare #Sustainability #Volunteer

@piedmont_farm_animal_refuge has reached 40% of their goal. The vast majority of pigs raised for food are sadly kept in harrowing conditions in factory farms. These conditions include gestation crates and farrowing crates - spaces so small that pigs cannot even turn around and resort to obsessively biting on the bars of their cage. Pigs on smaller farms endure lack of proper medical care and death at just a fraction of their lifespans. These animals are intentionally hidden from our view at all stages of their lives. In North Carolina alone there are over 8 million pigs being raised for food. While you can live here your whole life and never see one of these sensitive beings, the impacts of this “farming” industry are vast. From the environmental toll on our waterways from excessive pig waste, to the health issues that people living in eastern NC endure, this is truly an issue that affects us all. At the Refuge we recognize that pigs are smart, feeling individuals who deserve a long life full of happiness and safety. The Pig Project aims to provide dozens of future rescued animals with a true piggy paradise. This ambitious task has the goal of providing the following to rescued pigs: 15 acres of woodlands to roam 4 custom-built pig houses following the principles of Animal-Centered Design Swimming holes to cool down in Daily enrichment including foraging for planted vegetables A special feeding station, quarantine, and clinic for aging and ill pigs In addition to providing pigs with a refuge from our cruel world, we will also create a robust educational program that exposes members of the public to the truths about these incredible animals. Through regular tours, kids programs and partnerships with local universities, we will provide compassionate education that strives to increase people’s respect, understanding and wonder for pigs. From Heartbreak to Hope: The Life-Changing Impact of Volunteering... Volunteering has been a big part of my life since I was 14, when I first started helping stray animals in my community just for the sake of helping my parents feed the society street dogs. I quickly learned that behind every animal on the street is a story, often of hardship and resilience, but sadly, many of these stories end too soon due to lack of treatment, resources, and funds. From rescues after car accidents to nursing animals back to health, from deadly diseases to cases of abuse, I’ve witnessed the reality that so many animals face. Seeing these struggles firsthand has taught me compassion, patience, and the importance of giving back. It’s heart breaking to lose a life simply because help wasn’t available, yet every small effort makes a difference. Today, I’m committed to supporting initiatives that provide medical care, shelter, and a second chance to stray animals. Volunteering taught me that even small actions can create a chain of change, and I’m grateful to be part of that. If you’re able, consider giving back—it may just change your life, too. #Volunteering #AnimalWelfare #GiveBack #MakeADifference #peta #AdoptDontShop #RescueAnimals #SupportAnimalRescue #AnimalRights #SaveAnimals #EndAnimalCruelty #AnimalAdvocacy #CompassionInAction #HumanityFirst #BeTheChange #SocialImpact #Philanthropy #Empathy
