Be in a learning mode. Gaelle Laigo and Emmanuelle BYRD are a great example of this statement. Recently, they shared their story about Agile Transformation at Orange at our #TheFutureofSW conference. Find the link at the end of the post. Orange's approach to change is called the Tea Strategy. What do you know about tea ceremonies? • Simple • Relatively slow • Focused on quality • Inclusive And it’s all about enjoying the ceremony. Olivier Zara was inspired by this ceremony and wrote a book called Tea Strategy. In it, he used the metaphor of tea steeping in warm water, where the flavor spreads throughout the cup. In business context hot water represent's motivated people. As Emma mentioned, people are more motivated to act when something is bothering them. 〰️ What's bothering you the most in your company right now? The initiative began in 2017 within an operational division, with the support of curious, like-minded people (the metaphorical "warm water") and the executive sponsor. 〰️ Who could be your allies to discuss, brainstorm and experiment something different? The team started with experiments, learning along the way. From exploring and trying Adaptive Governance to involving customers as team members, they embraced collaboration and valuable conversations. The results? → Increased employee happiness and engagement → Positive feedback from customers → Fewer escalations → Improved cooperation across teams Eventually, the impact increased and the initiative spread across all functions, thanks to hundreds of volunteers: ambassadors, facilitators, coaches, product owners, and other agile roles, who were empowered by this movement.
