We continue to share our thoughts as we prepare for the New Year and today, we start with a question: Have you ever thought about the power we hold when choosing how to respond? Our response can often feel instantaneous, but Brandon Odell, CFA – Partner and Director of Business Consulting with Ensemble – reminds us with this impactful quote (often attributed to Viktor Frankl, an Austrian neurologist, psychologist, philosopher, and Holocaust survivor), that we in fact have a choice. Brandon notes: “I try to use this as a reminder and guidance for handling circumstances that may or may not have been from my own design. I can choose to be glad, mad, sad, or indifferent, but it's a choice - and in that is comfort that I control my general happiness even when times are challenging.”
