🤝Why Local Volunteer Work is So Important to Me🫶 Volunteering locally has always been a vital part of my life. It’s more than just giving back; it’s about building stronger communities, fostering meaningful connections, and making a tangible difference in the lives of those around us. Engaging in local volunteer work allows me to: 1. Connect with my community: By volunteering, I get to know the people and the unique needs of my area. This fosters a sense of belonging and mutual support. 2. See the impact: When I volunteer locally, I can witness firsthand the positive changes we create, from helping individuals in need to supporting community projects. 3. Learn and grow: Volunteering exposes me to new perspectives and skills, enhancing my personal and professional development. 4. Inspire others: By sharing my experiences, I hope to encourage others to get involved and contribute to our collective well-being. For example, I’ve been involved in cleaning up trash with the Bürgerverein on the weekend and serving as volontary leader at my local church. These activities not only help improve our environment and community but also bring people together for a common cause. With DCMN we support Samaritan's Purse (Christmas in a shoe box), Straßenkinder e.V. and Die ARCHE Kinderstiftung. Local volunteer work isn’t just beneficial for those we help; it enriches our lives and strengthens our communities. What local volunteer work do you do, and how has it impacted you and your community? Share your experiences in the comments! #Community #VolunteerWork #LocalEngagement #GivingBack #MakingADifference

🌟Why Community Volunteering Matters🌟 In today’s fast-paced world, finding time to give back can be challenging. However, community volunteering is one of the most rewarding and impactful ways to make a difference. Here’s why I believe it’s crucial: ☀️Strengthening Communities: By volunteering, we help build stronger, more resilient communities. Every effort, big or small, contributes to the well-being of our neighborhoods. ☀️Personal Growth: Volunteering offers a chance to develop new skills, gain different perspectives, and grow both personally and professionally. It’s an excellent way to step out of our comfort zones and challenge ourselves. ☀️Building Connections: Through volunteering, we meet like-minded individuals who share our passion for making a positive impact. These connections often turn into lasting friendships and professional networks. ☀️Creating Positive Change: Every act of kindness has a ripple effect. When we volunteer, we inspire others to do the same, creating a wave of positive change that can transform our world. I encourage everyone to find a cause they care about and dedicate some time to volunteer. Together, we can create a brighter future for all. Let’s make a difference, one act of kindness at a time! 🌍❤️ #CommunityVolunteering #MakeADifference #Volunteerism #GivingBack #CommunitySupport

New blog: Young volunteers – breaking down barriers. Our Volunteering Development Officer, Ellie supports people to volunteer in their local community. Ellie would like to see an increase in the numbers of young people volunteering: "What I would like to see more of now, is young people getting involved, especially young people with additional needs or facing barriers." You can read her new wonderful blog here where she breaks down the barriers young people face and offers advice: https://buff.ly/4c2Dqje We know that volunteering is great for skills, experience, confidence, to make new friends and get involved in the community - so please share this blog to help us encourage young people to volunteer! #Volunteering

LinkedIn has always been a great tool to connect and network. Hundreds of thousands of LinkedIn members are also people who would like to volunteer in their communities. I'm excited that LinkedIn are now making it easier to connect with people who might like to volunteer with our organisations. Another tool to consider when developing your recruitment strategies. How do you use LinkedIn to engage volunteers? And what might you do now you know people can indicate they are #OpenToVolunteer? A great conversation for us to start having as a sector. #VolunteerEngagement #LoVols #VolMgmt #VolunteerRecruitment
