As the festive season approaches, I’ve been reflecting on the past year. 🎄Brace yourself…this one is a little long… 2024 has been a year full of milestones, meaningful conversations, research into the future of work and opportunities to challenge the status quo. Because, quite frankly, we can do better! At the heart of this is my passion for the fractional C-suite model—or as I describe it in my book, Strategy and Leadership as Service (SLAS): a new way of living and working for C-suite professionals and businesses. There are a few highlights from this year that I’d love to share: 💌 Connection and community What started as me sharing my thoughts here on LinkedIn (a little scary at first!) has grown into something much bigger: my C-Suite As Service newsletter, chatting on podcasts, and even a feature in The Sunday Times! But for me, the real point here is that I’ve loved hearing so many stories of C-suite professionals and business leaders who have had their businesses/lives/careers transformed for the better due to flexibility, freedom and value this model provides. The proof is in the (Christmas) pudding! 🎓 Bridging Academia and Industry This year, I published my book SLAS in May, started my part-time DBA at Warwick and launched my LI research group - a big step in bringing the worlds of academia and industry closer together. I’m passionate about transferring insights between these spaces to refine the fractional C-suite model, making it even more effective and accessible for those it serves. 🎤 Supporting Female Entrepreneurship Being named in the E2E Top 100 Fastest-Growing Female-Led Businesses for 2024 with The Liberti Group was an incredible honour. It’s given me the chance to learn from and celebrate inspiring female leaders and entrepreneurs while sharing research and ideas to help others. So with that in mind, to this wonderful LinkedIn community and everyone I’ve connected with this year: thank you. Your ideas, support, and willingness to share have been invaluable. And to the amazing teams within our Liberti Group organisations—thank you for the incredible value you create every day. You remind me why this work matters so much. 2024 has been a big year for the fractional C-suite. I’ve noticed it has gained a lot of traction in the media and is becoming normalised as not just a nice idea but a practical, alternative vision of the future of work that really works.
