⭐ It is time to pay tribute to Anti-Doping Denmark for their public disclosure practices 🇩🇰 From the beginning of the Anti-Doping Database project, Anti-Doping Denmark and the Danish Confederation for Sports (DIF), was a great source of information on sanctioned danish athletes. I used the organisation in Denmark as a great example among the Scandinavian countries on how to publicly disclose information on athletes sanctioned for an anti-doping rule violation. Then all of a sudden it stopped. The information was moved behind a membership portal. A few years ago, Denmark changed their practices again. And now they are back on top. This is what makes the danish public disclosure practice stand out: 1⃣ They announce that an athlete is provisionally suspended due to an anti-doping rule violation. If there will be a hearing this announcement informs when and where the hearing will take place and if it is open to the public or not 2⃣ When a sanction is final, a new announcement is sent out with information about the outcome 3⃣ The sanction is publicly disclosed on the website of "Dopingnævnet" (The doping commission or board). With the public announcement follows the legal decision papers for anyone to read. That is transparency. ⭐ At the Anti-Doping Database we have an internal ranking system. The way Denmark now practices public disclosure puts them on top of our ranking. ⭐🥇 Denmark has also published the decisions since 2016. Wonderful!
