I can highly recommend this as a great way to get to know CCP better, if you have not been on one of these before.
If you've ever wondered what happens behind the scenes at CCP, we'd like to invite you to our 'Seeing is Believing Tour' on 28th June 👋 Our eye-opening event at CCP HQ in Cheltenham will give you an exclusive look at our new support rooms, Community Pantry and Polytunnel. You will also get the chance to meet some of our team, people who access CCP services and hear from a few inspirational speakers 🗣️ Turning up is also the best way to learn about our Hamper Scamper, Big Sleep Out and Summer Activity Bag appeals. So, if you're interested in volunteering, working for CCP or looking to get your business involved in supporting our mission, this will be 2 hours well spent. Continental breakfast and refreshments will be provided. Myth ❌ “Volunteering is a waste of my time” Facts ✅ One of the biggest misconceptions about volunteering is that it isn't beneficial for the volunteers. However, NCVO found quite the opposite to be true. 92% of people who had given time volunteering in 2023 were satisfied with their experience, and 75% of people said that it had helped with their mental health and well-being. These stats show just how valuable volunteering can be for you, let alone the charity or organisation you are helping! 🤩 It's Volunteers Week 2024, so be sure to share this post to raise awareness of the amazing benefits volunteering brings! #volunteersweek #mythbusting

It is Giving Tuesday this week, a time for giving back. This is a special day, a global day of giving that encourages us all to be more generous. I know it should be every day, but sometimes you just need the prompt to turn your best hopes into your best habits. I always think of the UK as a generous nation. But charities this year are reporting that there are a lot less people coming through as volunteers right now (although skills-based volunteering and virtual volunteering are bright spots). So.. this Giving Tuesday, why not explore giving back to your community by volunteering your time and skills to a small charity? Small charities are often overlooked in favour of larger, more well-known organisations, but they do play an amazing role in supporting people when help is most needed. Many small charities are looking for skilled volunteers to help them with a variety of tasks, such as fundraising, marketing, and financial management. If you have professional skills that you think could be of use to a small charity, I’d encourage you to reach out and offer your help. The gift of your time and expertise can make a real difference to the lives of others. And yes, as ever, there are also benefits to being generous with your skills. Here are the top four ones we see through participants in our programmes at Pilotlight: • helping you develop new skills and knowledge • adding to your professional network • enabling you to make a positive impact on your community • being a rewarding and fulfilling experience. Enjoy your Giving Tuesday and thank you for all that you may be doing already. https://lnkd.in/ekrDCkU5 #GivingTuesday #SkillsBasedVolunteering #SmallCharities

This week is #volunteersweek and at Action West London we not only value volunteers that work with us but also encourage our clients to gain work experience through volunteering. Our chair of Trustees Tony Coyne recently talked about the importance of volunteering in local charities in his monthly blog post, here are some key points from that blog: 1. Local volunteers have a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges facing their community. This insight allows charities to tailor their services to address specific issues effectively. 2. When people come together to support a common cause, it fosters a sense of unity and purpose. Volunteering creates opportunities for individuals to form relationships and strengthen social networks, which can lead to more resilient communities. 3. Volunteering can empower individuals by providing them with a platform to use and develop their skills. This can boost self-esteem and contribute to personal growth, which in turn benefits the community as a whole. 4. Local community volunteers are more likely to stay committed to a cause over the long term, ensuring sustained support and impact for charities. Charities, localism, and community volunteering are all interlinked and play an important role in shaping strong, vibrant, and supportive communities. By working together, these components can create lasting positive change and enhance the well-being of individuals and families in the community. Do you have a Volunteer Policy? How are you engaging your employees to support good causes in a meaningful way? Have you considered how helping charities and non-profits also enhances your brand reputation? It really is a Win-Win. Get in touch with us at Good Endeavours if you want to discuss your organisation's approach to volunteering and creating a #socialimpact And don't be misled into thinking there isn't time or it's too difficult to arrange. Just over a year ago we launched the Norfolk Vision for Volunteering. This brought together dozens of organisations - from charities, to employers, to councils and statutory services - to work together to halt the decline in volunteering we've seen across Britain over the last decade.👥 Over the last year we've continued to work with these groups and are seeing some really positive actions to increase volunteering. This not only benefits charities and VCSE groups in Norfolk (and with it wider society), but also gives the volunteers opportunities to learn new skills and make new friends.🫂 That's why today we're focusing our #adventcalendar on the progress our Communities Team and the wider Empowering Communities partnership have made in this area.🔍 Read the Vision for Volunteering document here:🖱 https://lnkd.in/eJ8cdgbW #visionforvolunteering #corporatevolunteering
