STOP publishing new content. You already have 100s of blogs that are collecting dust. Turn your old posts into traffic powerhouses... By using this 3-step strategy! Step #1. Clean Up Your Content Do a comprehensive content audit: - Extract all your content data from Google Search Console and slap it on a Sheet - Add a column for "Action" - For each article, analyze content quality, rankings, and traffic - Then, Google the keyword and check what the competitors are doing - If you have multiple articles targeting the same keywords, mark them as Merge - 301 redirect articles ranking worse to the one that's ranking better - For outdated posts, use the Upgrade action. Give these posts a face-list by adding new content. Add new trends, statistics, images, etc. - For articles that aren't ranking at all (and there's a clear reason for this), mark them as Revamp. You'll rewrite these. - For articles that don't get traffic and don't target any keywords, mark as Delete. 301 redirect these into your homepage - Execute all the actions. Save Revamp actions for last. Step #2. Improve Your Internal Linking - For every remaining keyword, add a Topic Cluster - Go through each of the topic clusters one by one, and do very comprehensive internal linking - If any 2 articles have anything in common, they should almost always be linked together - Always use direct match or semi-direct match anchor texts. Don't use branded match - Make your Blog a drop-down in your navigation bar. Link to all your cornerstone blog posts there - Add a "Best Resources" section on your homepage. Link to your most important blog posts - In your navigation bar, add a drop-down for Services or Use-Cases. Here, link to all your most important SEO landing pages. - Interlink your SEO landing pages throughout your blogs - a LOT. Again, use direct match anchors. - Remember: the more internal links, the better, but don't disrupt user experience (i.e. your entire article shouldn't be hyperlinks). Step #3. Upgrade Your Backlink Profile - Buy 5-10 domains for outreach - Create one email per domain on Office365 (don't use Gmail). - Use Pitchbox Blog Category Search to find websites in your niche. E.g. if you're in the marketing niche, find digital marketing, saas, content marketing, entrepreneurship, and other related niches - PItchbox is going to automatically scrape hundreds of these websites AND find emails for decision-makers behind the site - Come up with a creative outreach copy, something along the lines of: "Hey {Name}, [AI-generated compliment about their latest blog post]. My name’s Nick, I'm a growth marketing consultant. I’ve written for Forbes Business Council, Entrepreneur, and dozens of other websites. I saw that your competitor is ranking for [Keyword], while you’re not. Though I’d help bridge that gap with a high-quality guest post! [Insert details here]" -Start blasting those emails! Many content marketers always focus on writing new content for SEO. But what about the content you published one or two months ago? Have you tracked their performance? The thing is, we need to give equal attention and priority to old content that you have already published on the website instead of only writing new content. #contentrefresh
