The latest Hays Salary Guide for FY24/25 has dropped and there are some interesting insights in the marketing and digital space we just have to share. 😎 Rising Salaries: Salaries are on the rise (hmmm 🤔 ) especially in cities like Sydney and Melbourne. The numbers don't lie, let's hope it's true in this cozzie-crisis. In-Demand Skills: Got a knack for digital marketing, SEO, content creation, or data analytics? You're in demand! These skills are hot right now, and businesses are keen to find the experts. It's interesting given that AI has automated many of these processes- but they all still need a human to drive them. Hybrid Work Model: Hybrid work is here to stay, guys. With 97% of companies offering flexible work arrangements, it’s clear that the blend of remote and office work is the new normal. Let's hope it stays that way. Retention Strategies: Want to keep your team happy? Focus on building team culture and ensuring job security rather than throwing the pitty-pizza-party. Plus, offering career growth, professional development, and a pat on the back for a job well done goes a long way. Productivity Gains: Despite some skill gaps, productivity is soaring. Hybrid work and a better work-life balance are making all the difference, showing that happy employees are productive employees. What are your thoughts on the data? According to Hays’ latest Salary Guide, higher living costs are prompting more employees to consider leaving their employer for a higher pay packet. The research, covering more than 15,000 respondents, found that 40 per cent of professionals were dissatisfied with their salaries and almost two-thirds of employees expect a pay rise above 3 per cent this year, but half of employees intend to pay only 0-3 per cent and 13 per cent of employers planned no pay rise this year. This misalignment of expectations is going to cause a high degree of disappointment and in many cases see valued employees look elsewhere to secure a pay increase to help them tackle the cost of living crisis. For my recruitment connections this presents opportunities in terms of more people being open to a move for financial gain, for companies it poses a real challenge. #recruitment #salarytrends #whatworkerswant

📊 How to Benchmark Your Salary Offerings 💼 Feeling uncertain about whether your salary packages are competitive in today's market? Firstly, it's essential to start with reliable data. Research industry salary surveys that are relevant to your sector in the UK. Organisations like the Office for National Statistics (ONS) and various industry-specific reports provide a solid foundation. These resources offer insights into average salaries, regional variations, and trends that can shape your benchmarking process. Next, consider your organisational context. Take into account your company's size, financial health, and the unique value your roles and benefits offer. This helps to position your salary packages more strategically within the market framework. For instance, in tech industries, perks like remote working or continuous learning might be exceptionally valued by employees, alongside their basic salaries. Last but not least, never underestimate the power of continuous feedback. Regularly engaging with your team can help you stay tuned to employee expectations and industry standards. These insights are invaluable for making data-led decisions that ensure you remain an attractive employer. Are you currently facing challenges with data-led decisions? Let's dive into this together! 💡 #SalaryBenchmarking #HRInsights #DataDrivenDecisions

In the Projects & Transformation job market, salaries have always been a major factor influencing professionals' decisions. However, in recent years, more professionals are considering factors beyond remuneration, such as flexibility and the ability to work from home. This shift has been influenced by some companies requiring employees to return to the office, but offering additional benefits to make up for this change. If you're interested in discussing the benefits currently offered in the market, contact Adam Scanlon for a discussion.

New data from IrishJobs reveals that 64% of professionals feel that their current salary does not reflect the value they contribute to their organisation. The IrishJobs Salary and Benefits survey provides interesting insight into the impact of an evolving economic and labour environment on employee attitudes around job offerings. With many businesses struggling to keep pace with demands for higher wages, salary benchmarking systems can be an important tool for employers and employees when navigating salary discussions and help to ensure the balanced assessment of talent cross-industry. With the Government recently issuing guidelines on the right to request remote and flexible working, the research also shows that flexible working structures remain a highly popular aspect of the employment offering. To attract and retain the best talent employers need to consider attraction strategies that reflect professional preferences and needs. Offering a competitive base salary is a fundamental, but increasingly it is only one of a multitude of factors considered important by potential talent, with flexible working structures and other benefits growing in significance.
