Here’s the truth about public speaking that nobody else will tell you: It’s not about you. It’s about them. Who’s “them,” kemosabe? It’s the audience. It’s the men and women you work with. It’s your customers. It’s your bosses. It’s the family you go home to at the end of the day. Every time you stand in front of a room and speak, you have the chance to bring real & meaningful value into their lives. Presentations are about people. The words we communicate are just a way to share value with others. Problem is we don’t always know if the words we say land where they should — we don’t know if the message “clicks”. In 12 weeks the year will end and you could be no smarter or wiser. Another year of being being passed over for a raise. Another year of being ignored. Another year of struggling in quiet frustration. Doesn’t have to be that way. High Impact Presentation Skills (HIPS) was designed to offer you FIELD TESTED and PROVEN templates and techniques. Experience Beyond Appearances I often get second-guessed about my age. While I may look like I'm in my late 20s/30s, my journey is anything but inexperienced. I've had the privilege to amass a wide range of experiences across various sectors: ✅ In-depth knowledge of the automotive industry, from pistons and clutches to exhaust systems and crankshafts. ✅ Impactful contributions in both the private and government sectors. ✅ Transforming the lives of approximately 10,000 national service teens through impactful initiatives. ✅ Running a costume business, collaborating with theaters, musical productions, directors, and C-Suites. ✅ Certified Image Consultant providing expert guidance. ✅ Certified HRDC trainer since 2013, imparting personal grooming and business etiquette knowledge to youth, executives and managers across telco, banking, manufacturing, O&G, retail, and more. Despite appearances, extensive experience and knowledge speak for themselves. Here’s to breaking stereotypes and showcasing that true expertise is reflected in our stories and the lasting impact we create. #ExperienceMatters #Leadership #Innovation #CareerJourney #TheaterProduction #ImageConsulting #GovernmentProjects #Training #BusinessEtiquette **Thank you Prathaban Sevaraman, MBA, BPharm for sharing your experience.
"So who are you, marketing?" were the words said by a gentleman when I was about to hand him my name card. "Oh! You are the CEO! So, young!" he exclaimed after glancing at my name card. To be frank, he was not the first one to say that to me since I took office on 1 November 2023. It can be quite tiresome to keep repeating the same thing, "No, I'm not young. I just look young, bla bla bla". But why should being a young CEO be stigmatised? I've come to realise one thing: in the corporate world, people don't pay attention to you until you prove that you are a CEO. I've observed how people's attitude changes from distant to warm when they discover that I'm the CEO of a private hospital and have decision-making authority. This is the harsh reality in a country like Malaysia, where having power is extremely important. Without showing that you have some authority, you're just another face in the crowd at a corporate event. #weekdayrant #CEO #Healthcare

🌍 Summit Day on Kilimanjaro: When Communication and Teamwork Become a Matter of Survival 🏔️ At 10 pm we are starting our climb to the top of Africa. After months of preparation, I finally found myself on summit day, heading toward the top of Kilimanjaro. The journey was long and gruelling, but nothing prepared me for what came next. About six hours into the climb, at high altitude, my oxygen levels plummeted to a dangerous 52%. At that moment, communication became crucial for survival. I was weak, disorientated and basically felt completely wobbly (like a few too many glasses of bubbly...) This is when communication is key, but how do you communicate with a guide who doesn't speak much English? It is all about the trust and listening carefully. We can take so many life lessons from this experience into everyday life in the office. Communication is critical: Whether it’s delivering timely feedback, sharing goals, or offering support, clear and effective communication can be the difference between success and failure. Teamwork matters: Surrounding yourself with people you trust and who are aligned with your mission is essential. No one makes it to the summit alone. Rely on your network: In moments of crisis, having a strong network to lean on can be the deciding factor. Like Samwen was for me, our professional networks are often the unsung heroes that guide us through challenges. Just as I was guided down Kilimanjaro safely, in business, relationships and communication propel us forward. Build your network, communicate openly, and don’t be afraid to rely on others when the climb gets steep. If you need help with any of the above I am happy to help with connections so just send me a DM. Together we are strong 🥰 #Teamwork #Communication #Leadership #Kilimanjaro #BusinessSuccess #Network #Trust

Business Development Director at CARMA | Empowering Brands with Global Data Insights and Local Hyperfocus | Building Strategic Partnerships Across Borders 📧 [email protected]
Time flies, and today quickly becomes tomorrow’s history. I’ve created a carousel for those who prefer visuals over text. Here’s a glimpse of what fueled me in September: 1. SAFC Partnership with CARMA Philippines: Grateful for the Corporate Communications Group Head of SAFC, Rob de Jesus testimonial and ongoing support, which has significantly boosted CARMA’s media visibility in the financial sector here in the Philippines. A proud milestone for us! 2. CARMA’s First-Ever hosted PR Lunch at The Peninsula Manila: Jeremiah Rodrigues, General Manager for Malaysia and the Philippines, flew in from Malaysia, while Divika Jethmal, Head of APAC Marketing, came from Singapore to host the lunch meeting. 3. MARKETING-INTERACTIVE: Divika Jethmal moderated insightful discussions at Digital Marketing Asia, where CARMA was also a proud exhibitor, bringing together the brightest minds in the marketing and communications industry. 4. Launching of Reputation by CARMA: Huge thanks to everyone who joined the webinar with our experts Khali Sakkas, Maria Talakina and Orla Graham MPRCA! If you missed it, DM me for exclusive access to the webinar video and a copy of our Global Airlines Reputation Report. 5. Public Relations Society of the Philippines: I had the privilege of attending PRSP’s two-day event as a delegate and participating in the closing Q&A with Ron Jabal, DBA, APR, Chairman & CEO of PAGEONE Group. 6. New Office, New Beginnings: My co-BD Manager, Gabriel Ozaeta, MBA and I have moved into a new office at 8 Rockwell, 21st Floor, Makati! Shout out to Ana M. and Rizaldy Bayani for their support and help. Whether you’re celebrating a win or facing a challenge, my door is always open. Transparency is key to growing together. I've put together a two-page collage featuring photos from my phone. If you were at any events last September, you might spot a shot of us! There’s so much more I could share, but I’ll save it for future posts. 😊 #SAFC #CARMA #CARMAPhilippines #ThePeninsulaManila #DigitalMarketingAsia #ReputationByCARMA #PRSP #NewOfficeMakati #NewBeginnings #ThankYouSeptember #HelloOctober

What happened in Thailand this week!? 😀 Better understand and manage cross culture differences 😀 Better read and use body language 😀 Better read and adapt to other personality styles 😀 Create deeper rapport in less time 😀 Ask world class questions instead of puking about your solution! to better understand your international business partners, customers and create and sell more added value and negotiate more effectively. The above international IFF account management team succeeded in all of the above topics after an intensive week of training & coaching. Highly relevant for all commercial people doing business in international settings. We are proud to go from pilot to implementation with this high value Hovingh & Partners program that includes all of the above. The results on a 1 to 10 scale tell it all: - 9.37 on being able to apply the learnings immediately - 9.13 on exceeding expectations and achieving goals - 9.73 on recommending this program to others Big compliments to @[email protected], Jeroen Ingelbrecht, Sheril Vaidhyan and the IFF HR organisation for investing in better value creation for your customers and your sales people.
