#voicemail #reachoutplan #SDR Research shows that about 95% people listen to their voicemail while only 25% check an email, so the probability to connecting with a prospect is better with a voicemail. However, it is further established that only 20% of sales people leave voicemails, clearly that is an opportunity lost. While the voicemail itself may not necessarily elicit a call back from the prospect but it does increase the email response rate by as much as 3 times. A reach out strategy that combines email, tele-calling and voicemail is bound to deliver a better outcome. Ironically, in a lot of SDR reachout plans that I have seen, the use of voicemail is conspicuously missing.

Your pitch comes too early BAD: "We help companies increase revenue..." GOOD: "Companies scaling their sales teams typically struggle with..." Here's why: Leading with your pitch before establishing context feels premature. Instead, show you understand their situation first. This creates a natural flow into your solution rather than forcing it. 3. Your call to action lacks clarity BAD: "Let me know if you'd like to chat..." GOOD: "Do you have 10 minutes on Thursday at 2 PM?" Here's why: Vague CTAs create friction. Specific times make it easier to say yes because you've done the thinking for them. It also shows confidence in your approach.
