Veterans Day: A Time for Respect, Not Judgment On Veterans Day, many Veterans find themselves feeling a mix of pride and discomfort. While the day is meant to honor those who served, not everyone feels respected or appreciated for their service. Society’s views on veterans can be complicated—ranging from genuine gratitude to indifference, and at times, outright judgment. Regardless of political affiliation, Veterans Day should be a time to come together and honor the sacrifices made by our military community. Service members come from all backgrounds and beliefs, united in a commitment to protect our nation. To my fellow veterans: Don’t be ashamed of your service. We know the courage and dedication it took to wear the uniform. Veterans Day is a reminder of our resilience and unity, no matter how society chooses to view us. Let’s honor each other with respect and pride, even if it doesn’t always come from outside. To everyone else, consider that respect and empathy go a long way. Veterans are more than their military roles—each has a unique story shaped by service, sacrifice, and an unwavering dedication to the values of our country. The confluence of relationships. This is what happens when people come together - they listen, talk, and relate over commonalities and experiences. Relationships are built. The military does this better than most. Throughout my career, I have watched many groups be in the same room, but rarely do I see engagement occur so fast than in the military and veteran community. I saw it again this past weekend. Veterans were sitting around talking and the Army showed up. Within minutes, they were engaged with the veterans. They know and understand that each person matters. The convergence of active service and veteran service merged into relating to each other. Relationships are the bridge between generations and differences. People are stronger together. Today on Veterans Day, follow the example of our veterans and active service members - Relate to each other! #VeteransDay #relationships #peoplematter

3 simple ways you can honor a veteran this Monday, on Veterans Day. 🇺🇸 🪖Veterans Day (Nov 11) is a time to recognize all U.S. military veterans—living or deceased—for their service. 🎖️While Memorial Day (last Monday in May) specifically honors those who died in service. This Monday, I encourage you to do 3 simple things to show your gratitude: 1. Recognize Acknowledge their service with a simple, heartfelt “Thank you for your service.” It goes a long way. 2. Inquire Show genuine interest by asking questions like, “What branch did you serve in?” or “What was your role?” People appreciate when others take the time to ask about their experience. 3. Listen This is the most important part. Give them the space and time to share their story, and really listen. If they want to talk, be there for them. Ask follow-up questions like, “What was one of your most memorable moments?” If a veteran is reluctant to share, that’s okay too—simply thank them for their service and respect their space. These small gestures can make a big impact. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope these tips help you connect with and honor the veterans in your life.

The mark of a good leader is to realize you manage processes but lead people. This idea of wearing red on Fridays is a great example of creative ways to develop a team atmosphere in the workplace. Houston keep up the great example and moving forward as a team.
We wear red on Friday here in Houston, TX. Absolutely love coming to work with such a great group of people here at Southeastern Freight Lines! We honor our troops and Veterans. #SEFL https://lnkd.in/gzr27_Xv

Honoring Veterans on Veterans Day Today, we take a moment to honor the dedication and sacrifices made by the men and women who have served in our armed forces. Here are a few unique facts that remind us of the incredible contributions of our veterans: 📅 A Legacy of Service: Veterans Day originated as "Armistice Day" in 1919, marking the end of WWI. By 1954, it became the Veterans Day we know today, a time to honor veterans of all conflicts. 👩💼 Leaders and Problem-Solvers: Did you know? Veterans make up 10% of all U.S. business owners. Their leadership skills and work ethic often translate into successful ventures that benefit communities across the nation. 🌍 Continued Dedication to Service: Veterans remain active in their communities after active duty. Statistics show that veterans are 30% more likely to volunteer, proving that their commitment to helping others never fades. 🕰️ Continuous Vigilance: The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery has been guarded continuously since 1937, a powerful symbol of commitment and respect. Today, let's celebrate and thank our veterans for their bravery, integrity, and dedication, which inspire us all. #VeteransDay #HonoringService #Gratitude

We get to sleep like a baby with little worry about our country being attacked. This little-appreciated fact is because of the sacrifices of military veterans. A quote from the Department Of Defense website: "Veterans Day honors all of those who have served the country in war or peace — dead or alive — although it’s largely intended to thank living veterans for their sacrifices." ► If you know a vet, reach out and express appreciation. ► Take a minute to connect meaningfully...not just "lip service". ► We have what we have in this country because of the sacrifices of veterans. +++++++++ Interested in a strategy for website content? DM me and let's talk about it.
