𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗲𝗯𝗲𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰! Attending Precisiebeurs was a much needed experience for Tesseract Technologies. It allowed us to explore linear motor technologies, their applications, and pricing while connecting with industry leaders in motion technology, system integration, and machinery development. This past year, we pivoted from developing a high-speed 3D printer to being on a mission to empower industries with affordable, accessible high-tech solutions that drive innovation in manufacturing, automation, and research. By reducing the cost and complexity of linear motors, control systems, and encoders, we’re enabling companies and innovators—previously priced out of high-tech systems—to leverage advanced technologies. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 💭 Unmet Demand: Conversations with different tech leaders in linear motor technology mentioned a need for affordable solutions in additive manufacturing, printing technologies, and pick-and-place systems. Many have received requests for low-cost linear motors for additive manufacturing, where affordable options are not present. 🤔 Opportunities: We have explored the integration of low-cost linear motors into laser cutting systems and compact automation platforms. Interesting for future subsidized studies. 💡 Distributors: Have made clear the critical balance between cost and performance to meet specific industry needs. 🔍 Market Gap: The perception that low-cost linear motors don’t exist was a recurring theme, with current solutions typically priced between €1,500 and €15,000 per motor. There appears to be a gap between spindle or belt-driven systems and the costly existing linear motors. 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀 Tesseract Technologies is redefining affordability in the linear motor industry with 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝘄𝗼-𝗮𝘅𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺—𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀, 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱—𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 €𝟭,𝟬𝟬𝟬. Engineered for simplicity and precision, our system offers easy calibration for beginners while providing advanced optimization for experts. While our solution may not cater to high-end applications requiring sub-micron or nanometer precision, it unlocks potential in markets where linear motors have been expensive. We bridge the gap between traditional spindle or belt-driven systems and the costly industrial linear motors currently available. A BIG thank you to the incredible professionals we connected with! The valuable insights and connections we gained have only strengthened our commitment to delivering cost-effective, accessible high-tech solutions that drive innovation and transform industries. Industry Wake-Up Call from Formnext 2024! Last week at Formnext - Where ideas take shape, I had two interesting conversations with separate leading AM companies that revealed a dangerous mindset: A desire for deliberate ignorance about their printing processes. Both companies admitted they don't want to know about printing issues. That’s ridiculous! One company, a manufacturer of end-use parts feared gathering data on the process might force them to scrap more parts. That is not how in-situ inspection works. Adopting technologies like what we have at Phase3D is a staged adoption using objective measurements to identify what causes the parts to fail early. The product helps customers identify anomalies that cause flaws and how they relate to specifications, which would cause the part to fail inspection, not simply saying if an anomaly is found fail the part! When you know something is going wrong in your process, you can understand the impacts. You should not simply stop everything the first build you see something going wrong. If that was the case no AM parts would make it out the door! The second conversation I had was with a machine manufacturer. They said they do not need to put inspection in their machine because their machine works perfectly. If that’s the case, I'll propose a challenge - turn off your camera and all sensors in the machine, cover the window then prove to me that the part your produce is good and should be certified without extensive and costly post-inspection. I know machines are always improving, but nobody has a perfect machine or a perfect build. AM is inherently chaotic and we need to know when something is happening in the machine. The approach to close your eyes and be ignorant is fundamentally flawed and harmful to the industry advancement. In additive manufacturing, understanding failure modes is not a weakness—it's the pathway to improvement and adoption. By avoiding data and insights, we: • Limit innovation potential • Reduce overall print quality • Slow down industry progress • Increase risk of failure We must shift from fear to curiosity. Embracing transparency about printer challenges is how we'll drive meaningful technological breakthroughs. #AdditiveManufacturing #Innovation #Technology #Formnext2024
