I had an in-depth conversation with Mum of three boys & Marketing and Communications Manager Lily Adimefe about ‘Re-Discovering Yourself After Childbirth.’ For many mothers, being utterly consumed by motherhood is normal. Motherhood, literally takes all of you, in every way, especially in the early years and especially without support. When we eventually come up for air, it’s no surprise that we no longer recognize ourselves. Some key takeaways from this conversation - - Get to know yourself outside of the many labels you bear. Your core. - Know who God has called you to be and let this flow through every season you find yourself in. - Don’t let the dreams in your heart die solely because of motherhood. - Children make terrible gods. - Understand that how you express love for people is how you should show love to yourself. - Parents need more support from the companies they work for (a common theme). - Mothers are not the sole actors in their children’s lives. - Give yourself a lot of grace.
