Wow what an incredible week of training💥 Within the last 7 days I attended two action-packed days at Agent Rainmaker Live, and what an experience! Our purpose can change - it hit me mid-training with Tami Adams, Founder, Curator of Speaking Talent, Speaker Coach that although I’ve always been on the planner side of things, I’m now officially a supplier! One thing I need to work on is imposter syndrome. To fight this thought with my new job, I remind myself that I always appreciated the suppliers I worked with. That the ones who truly cared about making a successful experience will do what it takes to work with you as a team player. Although a supplier is concerned with their piece of the pie, a great supplier will ensure it’s not a silo-success. I met so many through MPI Toronto Chapter who proved this. I know the moving parts of an event are connected. It’s just plain logic and a win-win for everyone when the goal of the event is a mutually successful one. In this way, it’s like my purpose never really changed. Earlier this week I had an enlightening conversation with a client during a coaching session. We discussed the difference between a spaceship launch and a fireworks show. Both are spectacular. Both attract crowds. But here's the big difference: The spaceship continues on its mission long after the fanfare. The fireworks? Once they're done, they're done. Are your efforts more like launching a spaceship or putting on a fireworks show? Here’s a practical way to ensure your efforts are like a spaceship launch: Consistency over intensity. Or as I recently heard, longevity over intensity. 1) Set clear, long-term goals. ( Use the SMARTER Goal technique Armand Briers) 2) Break them down into manageable steps. (Answering WIN - What's Important Now - Wicus Maritz 🧭) 3) Stay committed, even when the excitement fades. (20 mile march - Jason de Kock & Maydiene Louw) 4) Celebrate small wins to keep the momentum. (Virgin Active South Africa weekly smoothies are keeping Maretia Wiggett and me moving) Remember, it’s not about how bright you shine in the moment, but how long you can sustain your mission.
