One of the biggest frustrations in the job application process is the lack of feedback after interviews. Many teams don’t provide candidates with any insight into their decisions, leaving the applicant to guess why they didn’t move forward. My advice: avoid the temptation to fill the feedback void with rationalizations. Without feedback, we have no idea what factors contributed to the final decision. It could have been something completely unrelated to your performance, like an internal hire with an inside track on the job. Instead, focus on what IS in your control: your process and preparation. Nail the elements under your control -- your process and how you prepare for interviews -- and the right opportunity, in time, will come.
