Ovzon receives new order from SSC - Swedish Space Corporatio Ovzon has received a new order for Ovzon’s SATCOM-as-a-Service from Swedish Space Corporation (SSC) for delivery during 2024. The total order value amounts to 6 MSEK. Ovzon's SATCOM-as-a-Service is recognized for its exceptional ability to support any critical mission by integrating highest degree of mobility, performance, and resiliency. This recent order emphasizes Ovzon and SSC´s joint commitment to serving primarily Swedish government organizations and agencies, with SSC remaining crucial in the effective deployment of this service. Led by Leonardo with French coordination driven by ArianeGroup and a budget of €100 million, EMISSARY unites 47 partners from 13 countries. Is space our next frontier for the defence enterprise?   The UK #Space Strategy highlights significant opportunities for the UK 🇬🇧 predicting that the global space economy will grow to an estimated £490 billion by 2030. The UK is in the process of developing a thriving space economy – building upon our renowned science and technology sector.   UK Defence is in the process of delivering significant new capabilities through space enabled programmes such as Skynet 6 and LETacCIS.   The SKYNET 6 Programme will deliver the next generation of military communication satellites 🛰️ together with the equipment and services needed to monitor, protect, control and exploit them. This capability will deliver reliable, robust, agile and collaborative communication service, ensuring defence is connected globally.   The LETacCIS programme consists of multiple projects with the aim of delivering the next generation of tactical military communications in the land environment and providing the means to make informed and timely decisions, enabled by agile Communication Information Systems (CIS).  A key enabler for this programme is space and the UK’s ability of freedom of action.   This freedom of action includes developing our ability to launch into space. SaxaVord at Lamba Ness on Shetland is the first fully licensed vertical spaceport in Europe.
