Our new article “Over-the-Air Synchronization for Coherent Digital Automotive Radar Networks” from Lukas Sigg is now available as Early Access in IEEE Transactions on Radar Systems: https://lnkd.in/eeTTb3XX This work, developed within the funding project VERANO (https://lnkd.in/eSYq95My), explores how radar networks can achieve superior performance through over-the-air synchronization using digital systems. Our research demonstrates the feasibility of synchronizing radar nodes by correcting carrier frequency, sampling frequency, and timing offsets.

As we all know, the demand for bandwidth in the subsea industry is ongoing. High fiber count SDM cable systems are landing everywhere and traffic requires to be forwarded to data centers inland. In addition, some geographies such as the Middle East have a need for high capacity diverse terrestrial connectivity. But as we all know we are getting very close to the Shannon limit and therefore incremental capacity resulting from transmission technology is becoming less and less. Infinera's solution is to expand the usable terrestrial spectrum to Super-C+L, providing another ~25% on top of what the next-gen transponders can provide in terms of fiber capacity increase.
