My latest article at Analysys Mason dives into the future of Service Management & Orchestration (SMO). We predict significant growth, with the SMO market reaching USD 1.4 billion by 2028. This exciting outlook is driven by two key trends: -Resource Optimisation as SMO plays a vital role in AI-powered RAN automation for smarter resource utilisation. -Network Slicing: it is poised for strong growth as CSPs unlock the power of differentiated network services, where SMO will play a key role in orchestrating and managing these complex network slices. Keen to learn more? Check out my full article for a deeper dive into the trends, forecasts, and key drivers shaping the SMO market! https://lnkd.in/g_7vfH2G #SMO #Telecoms #5G #OpenRAN #NetworkSlicing #AnalysysMason #SDO #AI #RAN

🚀 The Telco Network Automation Journey - Part 1 The journey towards network automation in the telecom industry is a fascinating one. With recent advancements in AI, telcos around the globe are beginning to embrace automation. However, this is no simple task. Industry association TM Forum has identified several hurdles, including trust, skill gaps, and cost justification. Network operators have been striving to automate processes for decades, primarily since the advent of network virtualisation and software-defined networking (SDN). Yet, pinpointing the most effective strategy remains challenging. The TM Forum has developed a methodology to help telcos measure progress, assessing automation on a scale from 0 (manual operations) to 5 (fully autonomous networks). Currently, the average level of automation across 22 surveyed operators stands at 2.5. So, what does this mean for the future? Companies like Orange and Telecom Argentina are already at level 2 and are diligently working towards higher levels. Orange, for example, aims to integrate automation at scale despite challenges with data accessibility. Meanwhile, Telecom Argentina is focusing on specific use cases, aspiring to reach level 4 by 2027. The road ahead is long, but with continued innovation and collaboration, the potential for fully automated networks is within reach. #Telecoms #NetworkAutomation #AI

#aipowered #RAN or #AInizated telecom network solutions seem to be truly promising and #revolutionary. But, #transformations are not exactly like winning the lottery. In many transformations some crucial perspectives are missing. Therefore, #CSPs must be #transparent, taking a specific approach and consider all #business #implications. Such as: How difficult is it to #integrate AI based solutions into existing #telcoinfrastructure? What is the #cost and what is the #ROI/ the most crucial one when you talk about investments 😉 What about the #mindsettransformation? How you are going to cope with #Vendor lock- in? Indeed, its clear that everything #automated and #AIbased is cool, but what about the #consequences? Every #revolution must first build #trust and then #innovation!
