Campaign STAND TOGETHER #TUCgether We live in extremely turbulent, sometimes trying, and quite dangerous times - characterized not only, but particularly by the appalling illegal Russian aggression against #Ukraine, by the unjustifiable horrendous terrorist attack by Hamas and its devastating consequences for the entire region, as well as by extremely worrying right-wing extremist, racist, antidemocratic, and antisemitic tendencies in our country. Our democratic values, our open societal order, and our peaceful coexistence are threatened as never before in recent times. Many of us are experiencing for the first time such a threat to the—long considered immutable—foundations of our democratic-pluralistic society and security policy order. We are extremely concerned - and under no circumstances willing to even remotely abandon the achievements mentioned above, and therefore firmly determined to stand up for our liberal democratic basic order, peaceful coexistence, as well as tolerance, diversity, and cosmopolitanism. The letter is clearly reflected by the commitment to tolerance, diversity, and cosmopolitanism adopted by the Senate, University Council, and University Management of our university. We will continue to live our values consistently internally, confidently communicate them externally, and defend them with all available means of the rule of law, while pursuing a policy of zero tolerance against intolerance. Against this backdrop, we call on our members and associates, as well as all individuals who feel connected to our TUC family and our values, under #TUCgether, the successor campaign to #wirsindchemnitz: Let us above all... STAND TOGETHER AGAINST antidemocratic, authoritarian, and totalitarian movements, racism, right-wing extremism, and antisemitism, wars of aggression in violation of international law and acts of terrorism. FOR our liberal democratic basic order, #tolerance, #diversity, and cosmopolitanism, peaceful coexistence in a united, peaceful #Europe. WITH all those who unconditionally stand for our liberal democratic basic order, all those who suffer from racism, right-wing extremism, and antisemitism, all those who are victims of wars of aggression in violation of international law and acts of terrorism. https://lnkd.in/dnKVEnyr

The question of how (if?) public affairs consultants should engage with increasingly present organizations expressing extremist views is one of those questions for which the answer seems obvious - but that doesn't mean we shouldn't analyse the reasons for that answer and the historical background of it. Sometimes, complete disengagement is not possible - so what should we do and how should we approach this? de'ge'pol | German Association of Political Consultants issued critical guidelines on managing extremist organizations, emphasizing proactive defense of democratic values. They underscore the importance of balancing openness to dissent with protecting democratic structures, drawing lessons from Germany's history. With the European Parliament elections on the horizon, the influence of extremist parties is a pressing concern. They categorize the AfD not as a conventional political opponent but as a fundamental adversary of democratic values. de'ge'pol’s recommendations reinforce a strategic, principled approach to democracy’s defense, vital for maintaining the resilience and stability of our political system. In May 2024, PACE Member de'ge'pol | German Association of Political Consultants issued critical guidelines on managing extremist organizations, emphasizing proactive defense of democratic values. 💡 Key highlights: 1. Upholding Democratic Principles: Members adhere to the German Grundgesetz, promoting democratic integrity, freedom of expression, media independence, and personal rights. 2. Strategic Non-Engagement: Members are advised against working for or engaging with extremist organizations, including avoiding their events and platforms. 3. Advisory Role: Consultants are encouraged to advise clients against any association with extremist entities, safeguarding reputational and ethical standards. 4. Critical Interaction: When unavoidable, interactions with extremist representatives must be critically assessed, prioritizing alternative options and maintaining a firm stance against their ideologies. Authors Christian Blum and Dominik Meier underscore the importance of balancing openness to dissent with protecting democratic structures, drawing lessons from Germany's history. Following the recent facts emerging from the elections in Russia last weekend, it's confirmed that Vladimir Putin will remain president until at least 2030, surpassing the tenure of Josef Stalin. This prompts the question for historians: at what stage of his rule is Putin now compared to the Soviet dictator? Stalin built a system of cadre policy, ideology, censorship, and violence during his rule. A crucial component of this system was the Gulag, the Soviet penal and labor camp system. This era left deep marks on Russian society, particularly in terms of becoming accustomed to state authority. Putin continues this legacy today. Human rights activist Irina Scherbakova, representing Memorial, an organization banned in Russia, cites several reasons for this continuity. She points to the lack of accountability for Stalinist crimes in Russia and the normalization of violence and the suppression of any opposition and free expression. An interesting interview with her can be found in SPIEGEL Media #RussiaElections #Putin #Memorial #DerSpiegel https://lnkd.in/eHUzNn8r

Migrantifa far-left revolutionary organisation stated Germany as "a racist, murderous state". Should someone get worried here - or not? Die WELT reports (Feb 20) that Berlin is home to the largest number of people in Europe who consider themselves or their ancestors "Palestinians". Referring to a study that is about ten years old, there are 30 000 of them only in Berlin, and that amount is, of course, today multiplied. This latest protest march feeded their sacrificial myth as colonialist victims and racially oppressed. These same "victims" are accusing German law enforcement with most colorful falsifications. Protesters danced around the Palestinian flag to drum and sing: "Germany finances, Israel murders." Two hours later, police stopped this shadow theater because the slogans radicalized to the point of manifesting "From River to Sea", suggesting the destruction of Israel. Well, does this sound like a Blitz for - or against - the European cultural heritage? Paradoxically, the core values of the European nation states are being undermined by these same radicals while grouping under "Migrantifa" which states at their website (theleftberlin.com) to represent ”people of migrant decent across various communities" and to make their mission more alarming state that "we consider ourselves a revolutionary organisation”. Time for some sobering reality check? In Germany, the increase in the number of asylum applications (329 000) was an eye-opening exercise, by 51%. Most of the applications came from Syrians (180,057), Afghans (113,295) and Turkey (99.863). In 2013, 13 percent of students had an immigrant background in Germany, ten years later the figure has risen to 26 percent and in elementary schools to 38 percent. An awarded (Egon-Erwin-Kisch-Preis) author Harald Martenstein has notified, that Germans are fast approaching the moment when native German speakers are only a minority in primary schools, in many places it has been that way for a long time. For the sake of objectivity, one should read EUROPOL's report “European Union Terrorism Situation and Trend Report 2023 (TE-SAT)”. Number of arrests related to left-wing and anarchist terrorism in 2022 is the same as in 2021. The sharp increase in violence against the societal pillars and first responders (incl. law enforcement), by far-left and anarchist extremist groups is an alarming fact. Is it indeed necessary to start a broad based discussion about the security and safety of indigenous peoples in Europe? The world is not black and white, but gray. Setting an example against right-wing extremism and in favour of freedom, diversity and a welcoming culture Technische Universität Chemnitz supports the nationwide campaign "#Zusammenland - Diversity macht uns stark" Together with more than 350 academic institutions, Chemnitz University of Technology (TUC) is taking part in the "#Zusammenland - Vielfalt macht uns stark" initiative organised by ZEIT Verlagsgruppe, Handelsblatt, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Verlag Der Tagesspiegel, WirtschaftsWoche and Ströer, thereby setting an example against right-wing extremism and committing itself to freedom, diversity and a welcoming culture. Today, DIE ZEIT published a full-page advert with the logos of the first 160 academic institutions that are part of the campaign. The TUC logo can also be found here. In the past, the TUC has repeatedly stood up for tolerance, diversity and cosmopolitanism - in line with the commitment of the TUC Senate, University Management and University Council to these values, in which the three bodies emphasise, among other things, their firm opposition to racist, right-wing extremist or openly right-wing extremist positions (see keyword). https://lnkd.in/ewMpkC-K #chemnitz #ctheunseen #sachsen

+++ Flowers of #peace for Mr. Schröder from Moscow +++ These are flowers of peace from Mr Putin for Mr Schröder birthday, who is determined to have peaceful solutions in Ukraine. This year is going to be end of war in Ukraine as on 9th June, #Germany is going to send a very strong signal during European elections. Further Mr. #Trump is determined to bring the #peace in the world i.e. ending Ukraine war within 24 hours, if he elected. (he is very strong in opinion polls too) There are state elections in Germany, where the parties wanting peace in #Ukrahine are very strong in opinion polls. I think that Govt of Ukraine must look into the peace options as the time is running very short. Mr #Schröder is easily accessible for Ukraine Govt, which should ask for more peace talks rather weapons as politic scenario is changing this year very strongly to end the #war in Ukraine. #Kiew #ARD #ZDF #DW #WDR #Berlin #London #BBC #CNN #CDU #CSU #SPD #Washington #Bild #Newyork https://lnkd.in/eiVQUpQU

Please read. This is an excellent article concerning the juridical status on behalf of refugees and poulist demands concerning deportation. It also shows that acclaiming what one thinks to be the vox populi is poltically stupid for these acclamations undermine a democratic understanding of what a constitutional state is and what the status if rights is there within. https://lnkd.in/d4g7kZ48

7moI tried to make this post more accurate and factual "by the unjustifiable horrendous 76 years of occupied genocide against poor Palestinians by Zionist regime, Hamas decided to give them a taste of their own medicine".
