More news of big box stores closing up shop. While retail has remained somewhat resilient through a lot of the turmoil, signs are beginning to be seen in sales reports and store closures. Don't get me wrong, big box closures aren't really a surprise and its been happening for the last decade due to the impact of Amazon. But things are getting harder for restaurants and other retailers as well. Could we finally be heading to the economic "recession" many have been talking about for the last 4 years coming out of COVID? What are your thoughts? In FY23, Shiprocket made six acquisitions to evolve from a simple shipping aggregator to a comprehensive e-commerce enabler. This has necessitated a reorganisation of its structure and a reshuffle of its leadership. If FY23 was a year of acquisitions, FY24 was about integrating Shiprocket’s new purchases. The company now has three main product verticals—cross-border shipping, domestic shipping, and checkout and ads—and a slew of functional verticals. The company has moved some of its senior leaders around to better manage this new-look structure. It also retained top executives from its various acquisitions, with some even a part of its leadership team as Shiprocket prioritises onboarding and retaining great product leaders.
