The weeks before Diwali were filled with action across UK, and Nordics meeting customers, partners, and friends. The key highlight of my visit was at Copenhagen being a speaker/panelist at the Risk Quantification Masterclass organised by Tech AGRIM and supported by Archer Integrated Risk Management. It was a great learning and knowledge sharing experience with Risk Management Guru Prof. Hernan Huwyler, MBA CPA and industry colleagues Graeme Keith, Jesper Sachmann GRCP GRCA and Abhishek Ramavat. My key takeaways: 1) Cybersecurity is critical to build enterprise risk quantification models and processes alongside reliable digital infrastructure. 2) Organizations that have experienced a ransomware attack previously during Covid or before, generally has been able to prevent repeat disruptive Ransomware attacks. Better processes and awareness have helped. 3) We are now living in the era of Cyber warfare at scale with increased Geopolitical tensions and risks. 4) ERM has to holistically plan for state/non-state actors besides Fraud, Financial, IP protection and Market position/reputation risks. 5) The increased threat landscape and attack surface needs better integration of technology and processes and merely deploying new tools may not help!
