Tech Council of Australia’s Post

Collaborating with Datacom, the TCA is proud to present our Australian Tech Leaders Survey findings - a comprehensive overview of the current perspectives and expectations of Australia's tech leaders in 2024. Our survey of Australia's tech leaders has revealed fascinating trends that are shaping the tech landscape. Unsurprisingly, over two-thirds of tech leaders believe AI will remain the defining technology trend in Australia for the year. However, our report also highlights interesting insights into lesser-known areas of the tech sector. Nearly 1 in 6 surveyed tech leaders think areas such as quantum and space technologies could emerge as dark horse trends, potentially overshadowing AI. I'd almost certainly agree to that! But I think the definition of AI, or the type of AI, will actually fluctuate. I can't see LLM's being the be all and end all of AI this year - it'll continue to evolve. But I think this awareness factor, that AI is multi-faceted is one thing that would be realised until a while yet.
