During European Chemicals Agency's "Shaping Tomorrow Conference", Daniel Schockmann, Public Affairs at REGUPOL and member of EuRIC's Mechanical Tyres Recycling Branch (MTR), raised a critical question: When will the Commission recognise that it's the dose and exposure, not merely the precautionary principle or a generic risk assessment, that truly defines a toxic-free environment? This question resonated deeply with the audience and sparked crucial discussions. 📂The conference, both in-person in Helsinki and online, delved into the theme "Today's implementation, tomorrow's innovation: the future of EU chemicals". At EuRIC, we are dedicated to collaborating with ECHA to validate risk assessment as a strategic policy tool, advancing the circular economy while ensuring optimal environmental and human protection. Our focus remains on demonstrating the minimal exposure to hazardous chemicals in recycled products, paving the way for a safer and more sustainable future. #ECHA #EUChemicals #CircularEconomy #RiskAssessment #Sustainability #ToxicFree #EnvironmentProtection You can watch the recording here 👉 euric.link/xx4

DIC Corporation announced that last month it acquired certification under ISCC PLUS, an international certification scheme for sustainable products, for a product manufactured by subsidiary DIC Epoxy (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. ISCC PLUS is a voluntary scheme that attests to the proper management of recycled and biomass-derived raw materials across the supply chain, including in production processes. This certification facilitates the use of raw materials to which the mass balance approach has been applied. Additionally, the use of mass balance bio-allocated raw materials is expected to reduce the DIC Group’s largest product carbon footprint by 19.4%, compared with conventional products that use fossil-derived raw materials. https://lnkd.in/gjuqUeGK #DIC #ColorAndComfort #ISCC
