🛠Terminology of Plant Maintenance. ⚙ 📢 📢 Plant maintenance includes "combinations of all technical and administrative measures as well as of management measures throughout the lifecycle of a unit, which are aimed at preserving or restoring its functional state so that it can perform the required function." Maintenance essentially is comprised of the following four tasks: 1 Inspection- Regularly checking equipment to assess its condition and identify any potential issues before they become serious problems. Regular inspections are required to determine their technical condition and to define the necessary maintenance tasks. The inspection includes the following measures: * Checking * Measurement * Observation * Assessment * Deriving consequences 2 Preventive Maintenance- Preventive maintenance in SAP is a proactive approach to ensure that equipment and machinery are maintained regularly to prevent unexpected failures and downtime. To obtain the required functional efficiency and availability of machines, technical systems, and equipment, you must implement maintenance tasks regularly, based on the manufacturer guidelines, the maintenance plans, and customer needs, while taking into account the changing operation-specific processes and conditions. * Visual inspection * Adjustment * Replacement * Supplement * Lubrication * Preservation * Cleaning * Functional testing 3 Repair- Fixing any issues that arise to restore equipment to its optimal working condition. Repairs consist of the following activities: - * Unit exchange * Restoration of functions * Breakdown resolution 4 Improvement- Making enhancements to equipment or processes to increase efficiency, reliability, or performance. The constant improvement of the plant serves to increase the operational and functional safety of machines, plants, and equipment. At the same time, a corresponding potential for improvement is identified, solutions are designed, and specified measures are implemented. Inventory Control for Electrical and Instrumentation Spare Parts in Cement Industries. Managing and controlling spare parts inventory in industries is thereby a very critical activity. In the attached case study, out-of-stock incidents especially spare parts in the category of electrical and instrumentation were mostly occurring and had a significant negative impact on maintenance programs on observation and preliminary data collection. The study main purpose is to reduce stock-outs on electrical and instrumentation spare parts in the cement industry. Stock is a store to offer a buffer between demand and supply. Spare part is an important segment in logistics management and supply chain management. This safeguard spare part is very important so that operations inside are smooth and enable operations to be more efficient and productive. Maintenance and Repair of final product, vehicle, industrial machine and equipment need spare part inventory. Inventory management is complex because of a large number of differential items and low demands are often found. Inventory has an effect on operating costs and therefore drives profits, return on assets, return on inventory and almost all other financial performance measures. The main aim of the attached study is reorder point, maximum inventory level, service level and inventory cost. Increased service level is more prioritized than inventory cost because absence of spare part may cause huge losses in production. The main practice implication of the attached study is to increase the service level and then reduce production losses due to stock out of spare parts.
