Even after factoring in living expenses, books, and fees, the total annual cost of attending LCC without government aid is still lower than the typical net (post-financial aid) cost of government-aided colleges and universities. On top of this, LCC also has two automatic scholarships: Academic Merit (high test scores) and Scholars’ Congregation (for students from supporting congregations that give at a Tier I or Tier II level). The Wyoming District and some churches are also choosing to offer their institutional scholarships to students enrolling at LCC.

It's disheartening to witness. Our schools, the hubs of knowledge and development for our future generations, are at a critical juncture - and not for reasons of pedagogy or curriculum design. Today's issue at hand is a financial one; it's about a budget that has failed to gain the necessary approval, impacting the very foundation of our educational system in the BCP Council area. Leaders among us understand that a robust educational system is the cornerstone of a thriving community. Yet, despite our best efforts to advocate for the needs of our schools, it appears that our proposed budget has met with opposition. It's a glaring reminder that the road to securing adequate funding for education is fraught with challenges. The rejection of the BCP Council's schools budget plan by the ministers has set off a cascade of concern. Where does this leave us? The immediate future seems uncertain, and it's a situation that's all too familiar across the UK. It's not the first time that financial constraints have stifled the potential progress of our educational institutions. And yet, we persevere. We must. I stand with the educators, parents, and students in calling for constructive dialogue and a re-evaluation of the priorities that govern our educational funding. It's time for actionable solutions that ensure our schools are equipped with the necessary resources to nurture the minds of tomorrow. The message must be clear: education deserves investment. This recent development doesn't signify the end of our endeavours; it's a call to rally, to mobilize efforts and advocate even more fiercely for the future of our children's education. In the coming days, it's vital that we come together to address these issues head-on. Let's foster a conversation around the significance of a well-funded educational system, and how it's indispensable for not just individual success, but also for the collective progress of our society. I encourage your thoughts and feedback on this pressing matter. How can we, as a united community, redirect the course of action and ensure that our schools receive the support they so desperately need? #EducationFunding #BCPCouncil #SchoolBudgets

Overall enrollment of Pell Grant recipients has steadily declined since its peak in 2009, primarily driven by the decrease in enrollment of these students at open-access institutions. While selective colleges experienced a small numeric increase in enrollment among students who received Pell Grants from 2009 to 2019, it was not nearly enough to offset the overall decline. In 2019, less than one in four students were Pell Grant recipients at the most selective colleges. https://bit.ly/3JoPdvi
