They have been awarded $295,516 by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), specifically the The National Institutes of Health and the NIH National Institute on Drug Abuse. This grant will support their groundbreaking project, COGITO, a turnkey solution for rapidly developing, evaluating, deploying, and scaling digital therapeutics. Digital therapeutics are transforming healthcare by providing clinical-grade software to prevent, treat, or manage medical disorders or diseases. COGITO aims to revolutionize digital health by offering a scalable model for delivering digital therapeutics to treat any disorder with a behavioral component. #SBIR #STTR #DigitalHealth #HealthcareInnovation 💡 The project will focus on finalizing several features of the COGITO platform to increase its commercial potential and assess its feasibility, technical merit, and commercial potential via usability testing with clinical researchers. With this recognition, and a patent for our AI algorithms, we are proud to say that Sincrolab is bridging the worlds of digital health and biotechnology—we’re on our way to becoming a true “digital pharma”! The journey in digital therapeutics, however, has brought unique challenges from an investment perspective (which is one of the Sincrolab´s journey where I have been more involved). We navigate both the digital and biotech worlds, and with each audience, we must bridge different gaps in understanding. For biothech investors, we need to show the clinical rigor and regulatory processes unique to DTx, aswell as scalable integration into healthcare systems. For “traditional” startup investors, we had to show SaaS metrics, such as CAC, LTV or engagement (and hence, focus in UX). Mayo Clinic is one of the most active health systems in partnering with #digitalhealth, boasting close to 120 partnerships. Most recently, Mayo Clinic announced a partnership with Exer AI, a clinical AI focused on MSK and motion disorders. On average, six new partnerships are announced per quarter, primarily from the U.S., but recently also from Israel, Singapore, Finland, and Germany.
