Today, I'm lucky enough to celebrate another birthday: we've made it to level 33! 32 was a fantastic year: I joined the PureCars team, experienced both personal and professional growth, and achieved so many of the goals I wanted to knock out in the year. There were so many lessons I learned at 32, but here are just a few that stood out: 1.) Recognize and Proactively Fight Burnout: Communicate when you're approaching burnout and work with your team and managers--candid, honest and respectful conversations tend to lead to stronger trust within your teams. 2.) Re-evaluate how you prioritize your to-do's: I had a bit of a process spring cleaning last year: in a world where everything needs to be done 5 minutes ago, revisit what's actually considered an emergency and what can be project-managed out. You'll save your sanity and prevent the dreaded 13/14 hour days. 3.) Don't leave friends and family on the back burner: We've got one life to live, spend it with those who care about you: work smart during the day, so that you can enjoy the quality time with loved ones after. Here's to another year of progress, growth and adventures in The Windy City!

Happy 1st birthday to us! Today marks 1 year since the launch of Wicker Basket although it feels like we have been on this journey forever! To be completely honest, diving into this very competitive RTD (ready-to-drink) beverage industry as a small company (just me) seemed like a little crazy idea at first 😅 Coming from a bartender background, this industry is a whole new game. Starting with the concept and experimenting with flavours was just the beginning. Then the reality of the relentless challenges starting with building a brand, learning about marketing, figuring out finances and funding, the list goes on. At times I find myself overwhelmed by the whole thing and it feel as though my brain is literally about to explode. I have had more than a few sleepless nights and there will be plenty more for sure. But through it all, I have learned to take things one step at a time, focusing on each small and manageable task. Slowly but surely, I have been piecing things together as best as I can because that's all I can do! The real joy in all of this? Knowing that something as simple as a can of drink has the power to brighten up someone's day, to become a part of their memories. It is the thought that the drinks I have created and the brand I am building can bring a little happiness into someone's life. So here is to another year of growth, challenges and hopefully many more happy memories made over a delicious tea spritz. Join me on this journey, and let's see where it takes us!
