Manager, Geospatial Data & Analytics at Canadian Tire Corporation

📢 I am thrilled to announce the launch of a brand new, state-of-the-art Enterprise GIS platform here at Canadian Tire Corporation! 🌐🗺️   For years, geospatial data and analytics has played a crucial role in the decision-making process for countless teams across our organization and we’ve witnessed a growing demand for these types of insights.   Working with our partners at Esri Canada and leveraging CTC's partnership with Microsoft, our modernized system was built on Azure virtual machines and servers, providing improved power and stability for our GIS professionals to continue their exceptional geospatial analysis work.   By deploying this platform with the Enterprise in mind, we are breaking down a long-standing silo and empowering CTC to unlock the full potential of location-based insights within the decision-making process. I look forward to the innovation that will emerge as a result.   A few other key benefits of this deployment: Scalability and Flexibility. Our GIS infrastructure is designed to accommodate future growth and evolving needs. It enables us to adapt to emerging technologies and leverage the power of the cloud. Data Integration. CTC acquires various third-party datasets, including demographic data from Environics Analytics. By developing applications and visualizations that combine these third-party datasets with our essential first-party Triangle Loyalty data, we enhance the visibility of these datasets and enable the organization to explore new metrics as we pursue a data-driven culture. Improved Collaboration. We can effortlessly share maps, data, and analysis results, fostering innovation and efficiency throughout the organization.   Our journey to make this happen was not without its challenges, but witnessing the excitement among our colleagues as we launch dashboards and applications makes it all worthwhile.   I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to the incredible project team who made this project possible. Their dedication and expertise have led to the development of a robust GIS infrastructure that will undoubtedly transform how CTC works with geospatial data. I would also like to thank our executive sponsors, whose support and belief in the potential of geospatial analytics enabled us to build a truly exceptional Enterprise GIS platform.   We are genuinely excited about the opportunities this modernization presents for data-driven decision-making, improved operational efficiency, and ultimately, better serving our customers, Making Life in Canada Better. cc: Esri Sean Sears #GIS #Geospatial #CanadianTire #Esri #Azure
