⚾ Youth sports can reinforce multiple lessons we need to remember in sales. Here are 4 I’m bringing into my work week from the baseball diamonds: 🧢 Teamwork Wins Games: Like in baseball, sales success relies on a strong, collaborative team. Every member's effort counts, and working together leads to achieving our targets. 🧢 Adaptability: The teams had to adapt to changing weather and unexpected challenges during the tournament. In sales, adaptability is key to navigating market shifts and customer needs effectively. 🧢 Persistence Pays Off: The most successful players were the ones who never gave up, even after a tough inning. In sales, persistence is crucial. Every "no" brings us closer to a "yes." 🧢Celebrate Small Wins: Every run scored was enthusiastically celebrated. In sales, it's important to recognize and celebrate every milestone, no matter how small, to keep the team motivated and focused. Let's go get this week! #Sales #Teamwork #Adaptability #Persistence #CelebrateWins #LessonsFromBaseball #SalesandMarketing

Timing may not be everything, but it’s a big thing. Whether you are interviewing for a new role, presenting as a finalist, pitching to an investor, or battling in a competition of any kind, the order in which you pitch matters. Having been through 1000s of finalist meetings and interviews I found these tips from Daniel Pink and his MasterClass to be spot on: When to present first, or as early in the lineup as possible: 1) You are not the default choice - give the buyer a fresh look and help them think differently. 2) There are a small number of competitors - the primacy effect. You’ll be taken more seriously. 3) The other competitors are very strong and you are likely viewed as the underdog. When to present last: 1) You are the default choice / favorite. 2) There are a lot of competitors. Idol competitions, figure skating, and wine tastings show those at the end score better. 3) If the criteria for selection is not clear. Let others help figure that out for the buyer before you walk in the door. #business #sales #strategy

Many lessons we learn from sports translate directly into the sales world. Lesson 1: resilience. Just like facing a tough pitcher on the mound, sales professionals encounter challenges that test their grit and determination. It's about staying focused, learning from strikeouts, and stepping up to the plate with renewed confidence. Embrace the setbacks, learn from them to adjust your strategy, and swing for the fences. That's the winner's mindset in both sports and sales. #Resilience #SalesSuccess #SalesStrategy #SalesTraining #SalesSkills #SalesTips

Perseverance. Determination & A no-quit attitude. 🚂 ⚽ Atlanta United embodied these qualities throughout the season. From midseason coaching changes to selling away our top 3 players, the odds were stacked against them—but they never backed down. This team reflects the heart and resilience of our city, and as a proud 17, I couldn’t be more inspired by their journey. Their story is a powerful reminder that while we can't control everything, we can always control our effort and how we approach each day. This is the same mentality we embrace here at IDR. In the fast-paced and ever-changing world of sales, challenges are inevitable, but by staying focused on our attitude, our effort, and getting a little better every day, we build success over time. Just like Atlanta United, we face obstacles head-on, knowing that determination and hard work lead to great results. Proud to be part of a team—and a company—that never gives up. #Resilience #AtlantaUnited #Perseverance #SalesMindset #IDR #Proud17 Read more: [Link to article](https://lnkd.in/gNKJdBxa)

In sport you have leaderboards, league ladders and your performance in broken down into stats for everyone to see. In sport, it’s high pressure, high risk high reward and your performance is black and white. You either win or lose. Hockey is more than just a sport, it teaches us valuable skills that we can apply in life and business. One skill in particular that salespeople can learn from is anticipation. Wayne Gretzky, also known as the Great One, was able to see the game differently than his opponents and anticipate two to three steps ahead of everyone else. In sales, we need to have this same focus and mentality. We have to anticipate where the sales call could go and be prepared for all contingencies. Let's take inspiration from the Great One and strive to be the best salespeople we can be. #sales #businessskills #WayneGretzky #anticipation #inspiration Andrew Hamilton Chris O'Reilly Bentley University Lynn Wolf, CPA Vaughn Williams Roger McNamara Lucas Vanroboys Will Garin Business Insider Matt Moran Joe Moran
