We always look forward eagerly to The Sunday Times Best Places To Work announcement, as it gives a brilliant insight into the initiatives that help create a great place to work. However, sometimes investment in workplace culture can feel like the preserve of premium brands. Happy HR Birthday to me ... 25 years ago! So much has changed in that time. Back then, we did not use email to communicate (it was around, but not used regularly). We used the phone, a lot, and also typed up memos and put them in little envelopes to send via DX! We did not have laptops, so never worked from home. We got our HR advice from a bunch of Croner Employment law books that sat on a shelf (mostly collecting dust). Updates would come in the post every year with changes. We were called "personnel" rather than HR. Wellbeing, employee Xperience and Diversity and Inclusion were not discussed. We wore suits to work!
We are celebrating at HR Delivered this morning as our Founder Helen clocks up a massive 25 years in HR. Her career began after returning from a year working as a holiday rep in Spain after her friend mentioned that "there was a job going at their place". Up until then she had never really considered HR as an option, but seems to have found her space by chance. And we are glad she did!

Move forward
What an amazing journey! Five years ago, on June 1, I had my first day in DSV - Global Transport and Logistics and today I know one thing for sure: we move forward! I got the opportunity to fulfill a new position in a global powerhouse in transport and logistics and conduct my hobby in the best possible way. Together with a team of over 3.000 ambassadors in the Netherlands only, we have outperformed our results each year. Together we created a hugh increase in the recognition and awareness of the DSV-brand through an attractive website, relevant social media, employer branding with our colleagues as “actors”, a strong press presence, recruitment marketing, the ONEiDSV app for all Dutch employees, a visual identity based on QHSE for all our locations, the annual ONEiDSV event, the orange Venloop 🧡, the national career event, Breakbulk Europe, an amazing brand movie 👇👇and many, many more… It is a fact that I couldn’t have done this without all my colleagues. Especially because of the trust I daily get from Peter, Patrick, Herman, Edwin, Barbara, Walter, Anita, Ronald, Cedric, Sanne, Manouk, Morgane, Dennis, Christian, Hendrik, Erik and many, many more. But it is impossible to mention each colleague individually here but know that I am very grateful to all of you for our cooperation, the mistakes we made, the results we achieved and of course, all the fun we had. These were her thoughts: ◾ How would you describe the team dynamics and collaboration at TRG? “Cross-departmental collaboration always broadens my knowledge and perspective, regardless of whether my colleagues are in Kiel or Düsseldorf.” ◾ What specific project and achievements are you particularly proud of? “I’m especially proud when I find someone who enriches our TRG team, both professionally and personally.” ◾ What makes working at TRG unique? “The location-independent flexibility. I can work when I’m at my most productive and when it best fits into my family life. I like to work for 1-2 hours in the morning while my kids are still asleep, then take a break to drop them off at daycare, and continue working afterwards—either from the office or remotely.” ◾ What’s the craziest moment in your life? “When I was 20, I fulfilled a childhood dream: a bungee jump in New Zealand. Just like then, I now trust in TRG’s support and flexibility, allowing me to leap into new challenges—always securely tethered.” ◾ What should people know about TRG? “TRG is the most family-friendly employer I’ve ever had, where I feel my strengths are truly utilized. And the best part is that my colleagues aren’t just great at work; they’re also fun outside the office. 🌟 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱-𝗨𝗽 𝗮𝘁 Lalamove 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗵! 🌟 🚚 At Lalamove, we believe in the power of weekly engagement activities to foster team bonding and boost productivity. In September, we had at least one fun-filled event each week, bringing the team closer and creating lasting memories. Our team bonding games included: a. Lower the Stick: Teams had to lower a stick while ensuring all fingers remained in contact. It’s all about balance, teamwork, and not dropping the stick! b. Tower Building: Teams raced to build the strongest paper tower. The winning team? Future logistics planners or maybe civil engineers! 😉 (Need a structural analysis on that paper?) We also had 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗯𝗮𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 where we paired up differently to prepare for our upcoming October tournament. Every missed shot brought a laugh, and every rally brought us closer. Whether smashing birdies or missing them, the shared jokes strengthened our bond on and off the court. Of course, we also had 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 throughout the month where: • We had two office lunches where the entire team enjoyed meals together. • On one Thursday where each team ventured out for team outings, creating moments that made us feel more engaged! The golden rule for all these activities? 𝗡𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗱.
