What makes a company more than just a place to work? Its relationships. We launched today “Care of People”, a new section in our Blog. Here, we’ll share the stories of our employees with their own words. 🙏 Read the full story of Catalina Spasenie here: https://lnkd.in/d3Dm_aUS #SCMFrigo #CareOfPeople #Employees #CO2Refrigeration
👉 “The mindset of SCM Frigo is about taking the initiative, closing any gaps between intentions and actions. The company has a lot of exemplary work figures, active listeners, and great leaders.” Meet Catalina Spasenie, from the Purchase Department. For her, three core values have been reflected in her day-to-day work at SCM Frigo since the very first moment: 1) Integrity 2) Communication and transparency 3) Impact on the world Catalina thus highlights how the company sees workers: as professionals and people. “SCM Frigo’s culture is nurturing because the aim is its employees’ professional development and growth. It cares a lot about who you are, not only about what you do. Kindness is never taken for granted”. Through the BEIJER REF ACADEMY, course options, and close monitoring with other colleagues and leaders, she saw an opportunity to improve her skills. “What I think makes the difference is also the ‘feedback meeting’ where our director takes the time to ask how things are going, what are the objectives we aim to achieve, what expectations do we have”. Between freedom of expression, team collaboration, and involvement with the community, Catalina is certain that “SCM Frigo’s values and culture have contributed to pushing me towards my goals.” Thank you, Catalina, for your commitment to who we are, what we do, and want to be 🤝 #SCMFRIGO #FutureOfRefrigeration #CO2Refrigeration #Employees #Career #WorkAtSCMFrigo

Love these posts from the Ginsberg's Foods team. Great job of establishing the brand of a company by featuring the people who make the company what it is. How is Ginsberg's, a regional food distributor, going to stand out when so many products are commoditized? They showcase their people. I want to open a restaurant just to buy from this guy, and from the team that he considers family. Branding isn't just marketing to potential customers. It is also attracting additional employees and making the enterprise/company/brand more attractive to other companies as partners. I'd suggest some design tweaks and mechanics within the edit, but full props to the messages. #branding #brandbuilding
With 31 years of experience under his belt, Bill Rich stands as a stalwart figure in the warehouse of Ginsberg's Foods, often being one of the first faces encountered by trainees on their journey with the company. His seasoned expertise is evident as he meticulously guides newcomers through every aspect of the job, infusing each training session with his trademark humor, making even the most mundane tasks enjoyable for his teammates and trainees. Bill's presence adds a comforting reassurance to the warehouse floor. His unwavering dedication to his craft and ability to find joy in every moment makes him a respected mentor and a cherished friend to all who have the pleasure of working alongside him at Ginsberg's. While Bill spends his days zipping through the aisles of the warehouse, his life outside of work is equally vibrant. When not immersed in Ginsberg's bustling activity, he can indulge his passions elsewhere, whether cheering on his favorite team in a stadium packed with roaring fans or trying his luck at the roulette table. Bill's zest for life is infectious, leaving an indelible mark on both the warehouse floor and beyond. Our Ginsberg’s Employee Spotlight continues this month with an unwavering team member committed to the service and success of the Ginsberg's team. Thank you, Bill, for all you do here at Ginsberg’s Foods! 🌟 #employeespotlight #employeeappreciation #foodservice #foodserviceindustry #hudsonvalley #employeespotlight #warehouseworkers

"Conflicts are inevitable" Last week, I visited Copenhagen and had the opportunity to explore the Carlsberg home. In addition to learning about their famous beer 😃 , I discovered an intriguing chapter in its history. The founder of Carlsberg, J.C. Jacobsen, and his son, Carl Jacobsen, experienced a significant conflict that led to the creation of two separate breweries in 1882, turning them into competitors. Carl’s decision to start producing a beer with a shorter storage time was the reason for a conflict between the two men. I was thinking while coming back, when father and his single child can have the conflicts over business strategy then imagine boardroom. "Conflicts are inevitable" for professionals/thinkers. Its very much ok to have conflicts. However, the same is crucial for the evolution of any idea and ultimate value creation. The key isn't to dodge it, but to face it head-on and work towards resolution. What are your thoughts on conflict? #ConflictResolution #Carlsberg #ProfessionalGrowth #Fridaypost

Last year I shared a post about a couple of “Cool Chix” I serendipitously met during an event at Compass Group USA headquarters. Tracey Richardson (left) is the CEO/co-founder of Lilly’s of Charleston, and Miffy Jones (right) is the owner of Miffy’s Foods. Through the magic of the Foodbuy USA Supplier Diversity Accelerator program and the Eurest USA Better Together program, these women-owned businesses have partnered together to pair Tracey’s sensational seasoning and sauces with Miffy’s amazing all-purpose baking mix on chicken nuggets (“Cool Chix”) and wings (“Fly Chix”). Who doesn’t like food that is both cool and fly! So imagine my delight when I crisscrossed paths again with Tracey and Miffy last week during the Eurest and ESFM Supplier Diversity Summit – “The Power of Intentionality and Partnership” – at Truist Field in Charlotte. A robust mix of representatives from minority- and women-owned businesses came together with Compass leaders and supplier partners to share conversation about growth, distribution strategy, and solutions to the challenges they face on their journey. As Miffy noted during one of the panel discussions, “We’re creative people and we just want to create good stuff.” That good stuff also includes a commitment to inclusivity, making people feel like they belong so that they can be the best version of themselves, and employing folks from the local communities we serve so that our partnerships thrive and endure. Food is at the core of what we do here at Compass – engaging in a way that has meaningful impact is what gives us sustenance. #enchantment #sustenance #dei #eurest #foodbuy #compassgroup

One Year at AB InBev: A Journey Brewed to Perfection As I reflect on my first year at AB InBev, I’m struck by the depth of experiences, challenges, and successes that have shaped this journey. Much like crafting a fine beer, this year has been a harmonious blend of complexity, innovation, and fulfilment. Key Lessons on Tap: 1. Harvest Opportunities: Just as a brewer selects the finest hops, it’s crucial to identify and seize the opportunities that will elevate your work. 2. Innovation is Brewing: Never settle for the ordinary. Keep pushing the boundaries to create something unique. 3. Malt-ivate Your Work: Infuse passion into every task, and watch as your efforts transform into extraordinary results. 4. Stand Out Like a Stout: Be bold in your endeavours and strive to make a lasting impact, much like a memorable brew. 5. Stay True to Your Craft: Consistency and authenticity in your work are as vital as they are in crafting a great beer. As I celebrate this journey, I’ve learned to savor each moment, appreciating the process as much as the outcomes. I’m excited for what lies ahead and a future with more cheers! #BrewedToPerfection #CheersToGrowth

🔬 🍻 A Legacy of Science, Sustainability, and Philanthropy: My Carlsberg Visit 🍻 🔬 This Monday, I was fortunate to explore the Carlsberg Research Laboratory and the "Home of Carlsberg" tour, an experience that left a lasting impression. Carlsberg, founded in 1847 by J.C. Jacobsen, is more than a renowned Danish brewery. It's a testament to the enduring power of vision and philanthropy. The Carlsberg Foundation, established by Jacobsen, not only holds a controlling interest in the company, ensuring its values are upheld, but it also funds groundbreaking research and supports the arts in Denmark. Here's what I found most fascinating: 1. Scientific Legacy: The Carlsberg Laboratory is a scientific powerhouse responsible for innovations like the pH scale and pure yeast culturing that revolutionized brewing. 2. Research for the Future: The Carlsberg Foundation generously invests in basic research across various fields, contributing to advancements like ultra-fast crop breeding and click chemistry (which garnered a Nobel Prize!). 3. Sharing for the Greater Good: Carlsberg sets an admirable example by sharing its research findings with other companies and communities, prioritizing societal benefit. 4. Sustainability at the Core: With ambitious goals like achieving net-zero emissions by 2040, Carlsberg is a leader in sustainable brewing, demonstrating a commitment to environmental responsibility. Carlsberg is a shining example of how a founder's vision can extend far beyond their lifetime. Through the Carlsberg Foundation, J.C. Jacobsen's legacy continues to shape scientific research, the arts, and sustainable practices, leaving a positive impact on Denmark and the world. From its rich history to its cutting-edge research and dedication to sustainability, Carlsberg is a company that truly embodies a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation. #Carlsberg #BrewingScience #Sustainability #Research #Denmark #Innovation #Philanthropy #Legacy #CorporateSocialResponsibility #Hass #EMBA

It's a merger that guarantees great cocktails. But what about sustainability? I was alarmed at how the subject was not mentioned when the US$4.2bn Carlsberg Group and Britvic plc deal was announced. I was less alarmed when I checked back on the two companies' most recent sustainability reports, which are impressive. However, saving the planet really is the only thing that matters right now. So sustainability and net zero should be front, back, left, right and centre in every company announcement, shouldn't they? Going forward, I'm sure that Simon Boas Hoffmeyer and Jacob Aarup-Andersen will power Carlsberg Britvic towards net zero, with the help of partners including PepsiCo EU and Silviu Popovici. But it does help to shout about it. #Carlsberg #Britvic #PepsiCoEU #sustainability
