In my own career, all of my greatest professional mistakes and regrets weren’t unsuccessful business decisions that I made.
They were the instinctively obvious but terribly uncomfortable decisions I didn’t make.
The things I avoided confronting through fear, uncertainty, and anxiety. The person I knew I needed to fire but didn’t, the conversation I needed to have with a client but avoided, and the warning I needed to articulate to the board that I delayed.
It is really important to have an honest conversations when needed which is constructive and measured so there is an opportunity for learning on both sides.

Hot take: You may never know who is running the show until you face the boss,
in you.
Let’s be real: half the time, we’re not the ones in control. We like to think we are—grinding, pushing, making moves. But underneath it all? Something else pulls the strings, keeping us from showing up as our clearest, realest selves.
In Buddhism, they talk about the Three Defilements—Greed, Aversion, and Delusion. But they’re not the enemy. They’re signals.
Every time you avoid that hard conversation, dodge the project, or refuse to hear that tough feedback—it’s not random. It’s a sign you’ve been hooked. Something’s got you by the throat, and until you look it dead in the eye, it’ll be your boss. A terrible boss.
We avoid stuff because it’s easier. Because facing the truth is raw, uncomfortable, and a whole lot messier than pretending everything’s cool. But the truth is, until you handle that, whatever you’re avoiding becomes your master. That avoidance? It’ll drive you straight into spinning wheels.
The goal isn’t perfection. It’s getting to a place where your clear, calm, creative self is in the driver’s seat. Not the version of you that’s ducking, dodging, or trying to hold it all together on the surface.
The real work is not the grind. It’s reclaiming the control you’ve been handing over to your terrible bosses in you that your avoiding. Because if you don’t face them bitches, you’re just running circles around your own mess.
What are you ducking right now? And more importantly—who’s actually running the show?
Thanks Steven Bartlett this is a wake up.

Completely agree with this post from Steven Bartlett
How many people are putting off really tough decisions - to the detriment of what they are trying to achieve?
Deep down they know it needs to be discussed and a decision made but in the moment it is easier to make the comfortable decision to avoid.
Very few people actively like confrontation or uncomfortable conversations but unless you are prepared to have them you are not achieving your full potential.
Do you have a tough decision to make today........................................ don't put it off, address it now!
Short term pain for the long term gain.

I have just came across this quote, and it resonated with me deeply. Over the past few months, I’ve been facing some difficult but necessary conversations—mainly with myself. It’s been uncomfortable, and I won’t pretend it’s been easy, but I’ve realised that growth often happens in the moments where we feel most uncertain.
For me, building confidence and self-esteem has been a long journey—one that I’m still very much on. There have been days when even small progress feels like a huge challenge, but I’m committed to making those small changes bit by bit.
This journey has taught me that personal growth and professional growth often go hand-in-hand. Slowly but surely, I’m learning to be more assertive and to trust myself in both personal and work environments. It’s a process, and while I still have a long way to go, I’m proud of the steps I’ve taken.
I’m sharing this because I know I’m not alone in feeling the weight of these conversations—whether they’re about personal development, career challenges, or leadership. If you’re in a similar place, remember that it’s okay to take things one step at a time.

I avoid confrontation...
If you are like me, let his post be a wake-up call to have the conversation.
It might not necessarily be with someone; it can also be with you.
Being open and honest with yourself is the first step toward achieving anything worthwhile.
Facing our fears and acknowledging our weaknesses can be tough, but it's essential for growth. By addressing the issues head-on, we pave the way for genuine progress.
Take that first step today.
It might just change your life.

As a visual designer, I’m used to creating work that speaks louder than words. But what happens when it's time to actually use words—especially in a difficult conversation?
For years, I hesitated, avoided conflict, and hoped my designs would do the talking for me. Guess what? They didn’t. 😔
Avoiding tough conversations doesn’t just impact team dynamics; it holds back creativity and personal growth. Feedback, both giving and receiving it, is a vital part of refining our craft. But when we shy away from uncomfortable discussions, we miss opportunities to learn, collaborate, and elevate our work to new heights. 🎨
Here’s what I’ve learned:
1. Tough Conversations Aren't a Bad Thing– They’re necessary for clarity and progress. If you’re struggling with feedback, ask questions. Dive deeper to understand the “why”behind the critique.
2. Vulnerability Sparks Growth– It’s okay not to have all the answers. Admitting that you need help, or that you don’t agree, opens the door to authentic collaboration.
3. Courage Drives Creativity– When we embrace the discomfort, we invite innovation. The most transformative designs come from the willingness to have honest, even uncomfortable, conversations.
So, the next time you feel that knot in your stomach when approaching a tricky dialogue, remember: it's not just about fixing problems, it's about leveling up. 💪
Have you faced any tough workplace conversations? How did you handle them?

Catching up with my friend last night, we quickly realised she's suffering from the start of a pretty severe burn-out period. She's working 7 days a week, her anxiety has never been so high, she's not sleeping well, and her performance on regular tasks has dropped considerably!
By the end of the evening, she realised that she needs to have a difficult conversation with her CEO about her role, and she's been avoiding this for the last few months.
It's important to remember that the conversations you are avoiding, are most likely the one's that you need the most!

Do you coach your teams on effective communication, but ask yourself—are you practicing what you preach? You ask for transparency and honesty, but are you being true to yourself? Don't deny others the opportunity to hear the important message you have to share. If it's on your mind, find an effective way to express it.

Ever felt like giving up because of repeated setbacks? 😕
I came across this powerful quote recently: "Unwavering effort cannot go unrewarded."
You're putting in the work, day in and day out 💪🏻
You're honing your skills, building your network 🫱🏼🫲🏼
Pursuing your goals with unwavering determination 🎯
Maybe the results aren't immediate 😯
In the grand scheme of your career,
Every step you take
Every connection you make,
Every skill you develop is a building block towards your success
So, keep going. Keep learning. Keep pushing your boundaries
What's one area you're focusing your unwavering effort on right now?
