🌟 Gratitude and Growth 🌟 March in a 60 second video, has been an incredible whirlwind of travel and getting down to business; with 21 working days packed with opportunities and connections to be had. ✈️ During the last month, I spent 16 of those working days on the road, whether in the car or in-flight, spanning across vibrant cities like Austin, TX, Richmond, VA, Iowa, Washington DC, MD, PA, NJ, and NY. Meeting with over 15 of my customers, including industry giants like Rollins, Inc. and Anticimex; alongside numerous independent businesses, was a testament to the power of networking and collaboration. Time spent support the New Jersey Pest Management Association as well. It was truly enriching to engage in trainings and strategic planning sessions, discussing how The Sentricon System can revolutionize and positively impact the trajectory of our customers' businesses. This month is in a complete wind-down for me, but as I reflect on the past month, I'm filled with gratitude for the meaningful connections made along the way, several new ones, and the invaluable insights gained. Not to mention, the opportunity to catch up with industry friends, peers, and mentors along the way added an extra layer of fulfillment to my journey. Extra shout out for the invite from Women In Pest Control and Bobbie Terry to speak at their annual conference this year too (and YES, I give other talks than just Termite). And just when I thought March couldn't get any busier, April is already shaping up to be another adventure with 14 days already booked on the calendar! 😄 Here's to embracing every opportunity, fostering growth, networking and continuing to make a difference in the lives of our customers and the pest control industry at large. I recently came across a post about the noticeable differences between family-owned businesses and corporate-run companies, and it really resonated with me. It made me reflect on the journey of Little Harbour Estates. What started as an idea during a holiday in 1990 for British owners John and Val Barker has grown into a thriving luxury property portfolio. Now, 34 years later, Little Harbour Estates remains proudly family-run. After reading the post, it got me thinking what the key distinctions that set family businesses apart from their corporate counterparts are. And this is just three that spring to mind: 🌞 Personalised Service: Over the years, we've built strong relationships with both new and returning clients, allowing us to offer a truly customised experience. Within corporate companies, this is obviously harder due to several including, scale and size, standardised processes and hierarchical structure. 🌊 Attention to Detail: Being a family business, we are deeply invested in our reputation and long-term success, which often leads to a level of care that can be overlooked in larger corporate settings. 👨👩👦 A big one that I think makes a huge difference is the commitment to legacy: A sense of legacy and pride often drives family businesses. Creating a focus on building lasting relationships and fostering trust, rather than just maximising short-term profits. I’d love to hear from those who have experience with both family-run businesses and corporate companies. What differences have stood out the most to you?
