Whichever way this ends for the agency that finds itself bang in the middle of a legal tussle, one thing is certain: The agency's visibility and awareness will increase among its peers and client marketing folks. https://lnkd.in/g2M96M-j There's always a silver lining, isn't there? Stealing ideas and then using/adapting them isn't new in the advertising business and is done with impunity until it's called out by someone. The increasingly common practice by clients requiring (not requesting) agencies pitching for their business to submit their creative presentations is only likely to increase instances where one agency's (rejected) ideas show up in work another agency does for a client downstream. A simple hack to reduce this behaviour is to look yourself in the mirror the next time you are about to use / copy an idea you didn't pay for and ask yourself, "Would I like one of my own ideas being blatantly copied without acknowledgement or compensation?" And of course to respect a creator's copyright on their work unless you have paid for it. As marketers and agency folks here, what do you think?
