we learn about our senses as children but what about our senses in business, family and relationships ? In today’s fast-paced world, we often overlook the most powerful tools for well-being: our senses. Ayurveda teaches us that healing, communicating and business isn’t just about what we think we know ~ it’s about how we engage with the world through sight, sound, taste, touch, and smell. I'm diving into how each sense plays a role in restoring balance and vitality. Too unlock the secrets of the 5 senses for a healthier, more mindful life? Here's how Ayurveda uses them for healing: 1. Sight (Rupa) What we see affects our mental state. Ayurveda encourages exposure to calming, natural visuals, like watching a sunrise or meditating with a candle flame to ground our minds and uplift our spirits. Try taking a short “visual detox” by stepping away from screens and surrounding yourself with nature. 2. Sound (Shabda) Sound vibrations can balance our doshas. Listening to calming mantras, nature sounds, or peaceful music soothes the mind and reduces stress. Enabling more effective activity at work and at play. 3. Taste (Rasa) In Ayurveda, taste is directly linked to digestion and emotional well-being. Each meal can be an opportunity to balance your body. Incorporate all six tastes sweet, sour, salty, bitter, pungent, and astringent, into your diet for optimal harmony. 4. Touch (Sparsha) From self-massage (Abhyanga) to gentle yoga, touch can reduce tension, calm the nervous system, and nourish the body. Try using warm oils to bring comfort and balance to your day. 5. Smell (Gandha) Aromatherapy has been used in Ayurveda for centuries. Whether it’s the scent of lavender for calming Vata or sandalwood to cool Pitta, smell has the power to transport us to a state of ease and focus. The main thing here is to focus on the senses to bring about a more productive and balanced day at home or a work...

Spring, known as "Vasant" in Ayurveda, is considered the most crucial season due to its profound impact on the body and mind. Here's why: 1.Balance Restoration ~ After the cold and dryness of winter, spring brings warmth and moisture, helping to balance the accumulated Vata (air and ether elements) and Kapha (earth and water elements) doshas in the body. 2. Detoxification ~ Spring is nature's time for detoxification, as the melting snow and increased warmth lead to a natural cleansing of the environment. Similarly, Ayurveda recommends detoxifying the body during this time to eliminate toxins accumulated during winter. 3. Rejuvenation ~ Spring is a period of renewal and rejuvenation. The increased daylight and warmth invigorate the body and mind, encouraging growth and renewal after the dormant winter months. 4.Optimized Digestion ~ As the body prepares for the lighter diet of summer, spring is an ideal time to reset digestion. Ayurveda suggests favoring lighter, warm, and easily digestible foods to support the body's natural detoxification processes. 5. Emotional Well-being ~ Just as nature awakens from its winter slumber, spring rejuvenates the mind and emotions. The longer days and brighter sunlight uplift mood and energy levels, promoting mental clarity and positivity. Overall, spring is considered pivotal in Ayurveda as it sets the tone for health and well-being throughout the year, emphasising the importance of aligning with nature's rhythms to achieve balance and vitality. Programme starts on Frid only 5 days to go 🙏🏻☸️

a little article, you may like ... The Ayurvedic Art of Living in Flow We live in a world where cramming 20 extra words into every minute is normal. But Ayurveda teaches us that rushing through life disrupts more than just our schedule, it disturbs our inner harmony, too. Remember the last time you went on hols ... You went for a walk, ate slowly, and felt time stretch. Ayurveda calls this "living in alignment", when our body, mind, and spirit flow naturally with the rhythms of the day. Yet, in our daily lives, we rush. We multitask, breathe shallowly, and wonder why we feel exhausted. But Ayurveda reminds us that true vitality comes from balance, not speed. When we slow down and honor our body's natural pace, we experience clarity, better digestion, and deeper calm. Ayurveda says the slow down, but with purpose. When we slow down, we nourish our nervous system, rejuvenate our energy, and reconnect with the flow of life. Let’s reclaim our minutes. Take a deep breath. Sip your tea slowly. Walk outside and let time stretch again. Ayurveda encourages us to move with ease and grace, allowing our bodies and minds to heal, replenish, and thrive. In the rush of life, slowing down is the secret to going deeper. What small shifts can you make today to invite more ease into your life ? 🙏🏻☸️

5 months deep at Jiva Ayurveda, and wow, what a journey! Honestly, it feels like the universe had a plan for me here. On the one hand, it's a great professional fit. You put in the effort, and they take care of you - classic win-win employer-employee situation. But it's so much deeper than that. Jiva's like this invisible force field, pushing me (gently, thankfully!) to learn about #Ayurveda. And let me tell you, it's the real deal. It might sound a little out there at first, but trust me, it works. I started with some books the doctors recommended - fascinating stuff! There's this whole science behind it, with different stages of analysis and figuring out your unique body and mind type. I even tried some practices myself, and wow, the difference! The deeper I dig, the more impressed I am. This isn't some fad diet - Ayurveda's been around for over 5,000 years! Big props to ancient India for being way ahead of the curve. Here's the coolest part: Ayurveda's a lifelong journey, not a quick fix. It's about understanding your body, not just popping a pill when you get a headache. It's about YOU being the hero of your own health story, not some fancy medication. Your body is amazing, and Ayurveda teaches you to listen to it. But here's the question: are you ready to listen? When you answer that, that's when the door to true well-being opens. Sure, modern medicine has its place. But nature has so much to offer too. We just get impatient sometimes, right? Don't wait for health problems to hit you! A small mindset shift with Ayurveda can make a world of difference. Let me know in the comments - what are your thoughts on Ayurveda? . . . . . . #Ayurveda #JivaAyurveda #wellbeing #ancientwisdom #holistichealth #llama3 #MetaAI #Whatsapp WhatsApp Meta Facebook

Unveiling the Mind-Body Connection: Bridging the Gap Between Neuroimmunoendocrine Science and Ayurveda ✍🏻Neuroimmunoendocrine (NIE) and Ayurveda share some interesting connections, although they come from very different backgrounds: 📍Neuroimmunoendocrine (NIE) System: 🔖A modern scientific concept that recognizes the interconnectedness of the nervous system, immune system, and endocrine system. These systems communicate with each other through hormones, neurotransmitters, and cytokines, influencing each other's functions. This integrated network plays a crucial role in maintaining overall health and well-being. 📍Ayurveda: ↪️An Ayurveda medical system focusing on achieving balance between mind, body, and spirit. ↪️It emphasizes the concept of "doshas" (Vata, Pitta, Kapha), which are considered energies or principles governing individual constitutions and health. ↪️Ayurvedic practices aim to restore balance within these doshas to maintain health and prevent disease. 📍Connecting the Dots: 💠Both NIE and Ayurveda acknowledge the interconnectedness of various bodily systems for overall health. 💠While NIE uses scientific terminology and research, Ayurveda works within a more philosophical framework. 👉🏻Some concepts in Ayurveda might have parallels in the NIE system: 1️⃣Vata could relate to the nervous system's influence on digestion and immunity. 2️⃣Pitta could connect to the endocrine system's role in metabolism and inflammation. 3️⃣Kapha might be linked to the combined influence of hormones and immune function on body structure and fluids. 👉🏻Important Considerations: While some parallels exist, these are not perfect matches. 🔎Further Exploration: ➡️Research is ongoing to understand how traditional systems like Ayurveda might inform modern medicine. ➡️Studies explore the potential benefits of Ayurvedic practices for specific health conditions. 👉🏻Overall, NIE and Ayurveda offer different perspectives on health and well-being. Recognizing the potential connections between them can foster a more holistic approach to health. #Ayurveda #Neuroimmunoendocrine #MindBodyConnection #Science #HolisticHealth Diagram details 👇🏻 The diagram suggests that these various factors all play a role in health and disease. For instance, neurotransmitters and neuro-endocrine hormones might influence the immune system, and metabolic factors may affect inflammatory factors.these systems are interconnected and influence each other.

lots of people ask about this , so here's another important piece of Ayurveda education ~ in brief ... Understanding the Three Doshas - Vata, Pitta, and Kapha Ayurveda, an ancient Indian system of medicine, delves into the essence of balance within the body and mind through the concept of doshas. These dosha Vata, Pitta, and Kapha serve as fundamental energies governing physiological and psychological functions. The Three Doshas: 1. Vata: Vata embodies the energy of movement, comprising air and ether elements. It governs bodily functions like breathing and circulation. Dominant Vata individuals are often creative and quick-thinking, but imbalanced Vata can lead to anxiety and digestive issues. To restore balance, grounding practices like warm foods and gentle exercise are recommended. 2. Pitta: Pitta signifies the energy of transformation, fueled by fire and water elements. It regulates digestion and metabolism. Pitta-dominant individuals are usually ambitious and intelligent, but excess Pitta can manifest as irritability and inflammation. Cooling practices such as hydrating and mindfulness aid in pacifying Pitta. 3. Kapha: Kapha embodies stability, composed of earth and water elements. It governs growth and lubrication. Kapha-dominant individuals tend to be calm and compassionate, but imbalanced Kapha may lead to lethargy and weight gain. Stimulating practices like exercise and light foods help balance Kapha. Balancing the Doshas: While Prakriti, one's inherent constitution, determines doshic balance, lifestyle choices influence it. Understanding one's constitution aids in making conscious lifestyle choices to maintain balance and prevent imbalances. Conclusion: In Ayurveda's intricate wisdom, doshas guide holistic health and well-being. By harmonising Vata, Pitta, and Kapha through diet and lifestyle, vitality and inner harmony are nurtured. Ayurveda offers a path of self-discovery and alignment with life's rhythms, unlocking the secrets to optimal health. Friday 13th .... In Ayurveda, philosophy and spiritual practices emphasize alignment with natural cycles and energies. While Friday the 13th is often associated with superstition in Western culture, in Ayurveda, such a day would be seen through the lens of energy, planetary influences, and personal balance rather than fear or bad luck. Ayurveda encourages looking at all events, whether considered auspicious or inauspicious, with equanimity. It advises maintaining a balanced state of mind and body regardless of external circumstances. Fear or negative superstitions are often seen as imbalances in the mind (Manas dosha), particularly involving excess Vata (air and space elements), which can create anxiety or uncertainty. Instead of focusing on the superstition surrounding Friday the 13th, Ayurveda suggests grounding practices such as ~ 1. Abhyanga (self-massage): Calming the nervous system with warm oil massage to reduce Vata imbalances. 2. Meditation and Pranayama: Deep breathing and meditation to maintain mental clarity and emotional stability. 3. Nurturing food: Opting for sattvic (pure) foods to enhance calmness and grounding during unsettling times. In essence, Ayurveda would encourage reframing superstitions and fears through balance, alignment with nature, and self-awareness 🙏🏻☸️
