Celebrating another milestone: 5 years into corporate!! I still remember when I accidentally landed in market research industry and did not want to continue and wanted to leave so bad and here I am celebrating 5 years today. All these years, I have learnt a lot of professional and personal lessons in my life such as: - Never give up - Never stop hustling - The right person would always value you - Lastly, if you are the smartest one in the room then, you are probably in the wrong room! Besides these personal lessons, my professional experience taught me to analyze the market of every product that I see, I am now unconsciously finding the objective and background stories of the companies and products. I am always chasing companies to see “why are they launching this product” or “why isn’t their product doing good” or “maybe how is it doing exceptionally good”. Market Research has paved my way to grow in my career and has enhanced my skills in such a way that I could never imagine. It has taught me patience, flexibility, data mining, finding objectives and what not. So, today after 5 years of roller coaster ride, here’s a note for the industry: “Dear MR industry, thank you for choosing me.” ~Forever your accidently landed girl in MR who falls in love with you everyday. Never stop surprising me! Cheers 🥂

Why Did You Come to Corporate? If your answer is, “Just to enjoy and leave,” this post isn’t for you. For the rest of us, let’s reflect: We didn’t come to the corporate world just to pass time. We came to build careers, create strong and trusted relationships, add value to our companies, and upskill ourselves for better roles. When your motto is growth and contribution, here’s what truly matters: • Be genuine in your actions. • Celebrate others’ success instead of competing negatively. • Stay positive in conversations and outlook. • Always keep your eyes open for opportunities to learn and grow. And most importantly: Fight for everything or die for nothing. Being positive, respectful, and focusing on your goals and learning can make all the difference. At the end of the day, remember this: You are on your own journey. Learn from others’ mistakes—life is too short to make them all yourself.

4 years at Lindström have flown by like a breeze! OK, I will be honest, it has not been just a breeze 😅 Rather like a day of Latvian summer – some hours of sun and warmth, then a few gusts of strong wind, and after a moment of storm, everything is perfect again. Overall, it has been a positive, fun and educational journey and I am still hungry for more professional adventures. The biggest lessons I have learned: 🍎 Managing a company where almost half of the employees work in a laundry is significantly more exciting and challenging than being responsible only for office staff and processes. 🍎 Instead of only focusing on only people and their routines, I am today also responsible for technological processes and equipment, their maintenance, improvement and enhancing production efficiency – this factor has given me a much broader experience than any company I have ever worked at. 🍎 Appreciative leadership style is definitely best suited to me – I continue to nurture and develop this approach, constantly seeking for ways how to allow my team members use and benefit their various strengths. 🍎Working in a company whose values completely align with my own has been a crucial additional motivation. To all the people who are out there considering a career change or already in search of a new job: dare to jump into the unknown and find the mission close to your heart. We spend such a big part of our life at work – best make it a fun experience! #lindströmlife #wecare

I trusted this 1 thing working in big companies. Large companies offer exciting opportunities: new roles, global experiences, impactful projects. But this comes a challenge: truly knowing the people and teams you'll be working with. This is why, above all else, I prioritized chemistry with the team leader when I was evaluating a new opportunity. This goes beyond just getting along well. It's about aligning with their vision, understanding their expectations, and feeling excited to be part of their mission. If they’re a movement you want to be a part of. But how do you know if you have that vital chemistry? Here's where gut feeling comes in. Often dismissed as illogical, ✨INTUITION✨ is actually a powerful tool, drawing on past experiences to send you subtle signals. It's a distillation of knowledge you haven't yet consciously identified, a whisper from your subconscious. Think of it like this: sometimes, you've gathered all the data, analyzed every angle, yet the picture remains incomplete. This is where your ✨intuition✨ steps in, bridging the gap and guiding you towards the best path. While not foolproof, trusting your instincts allows you to bet on yourself and your accumulated experiences. So, the next time you're faced with a career crossroads within the corporate maze, don't dismiss that inner voice. It might just be your most valuable compass. I’m curious to know about the times you’ve trusted your ✨intuition✨ - or ignored it.

Today we celebrate Pamela Gregg’s 25th work Anniversary! Pam was originally hired as an assistant director of media relations at the University of Dayton and later transitioned into her role as senior communications manager at UDRI. Pam considers joining UD to be her best career choice and states that she, “... couldn’t imagine a better job than working at UD back then and I still can’t today.” Keep reading to learn more about Pam’s time with UDRI. Q: What is your area of work? I support internal and external communication in messaging, news stories and marketing projects. Q: What do you enjoy most about your work? I have always said I have the best job at UDRI: The researchers do all the work, and I get to brag about it. I love telling stories about the amazing work we do here, not only because the research developments are so impressive, but because I’m so proud to work every day with people who are so dedicated to their crafts and their customers. The collective attitude here is that there’s no such thing as “can’t;” it’s “okay, we have a challenge, how do we overcome it?” It’s tremendously inspiring! Q: Do you remember your first day at UDRI? Yes! My then supervisor showed me my desk and computer, then she sheepishly smiled and said, “Let me know if you need anything.” There were no instructions for me, because UDRI had not had a dedicated communication professional before. So I got to build my job from scratch, and that was an incredible opportunity! Q: What is it about UDRI that has kept you here for 25 years? My first four years at UD were in the University’s media relations team, mainly covering arts and humanities. I did my best to avoid research stories, until the first time I was assigned one. It changed my entire view about UDRI and its mission. The more stories I wrote about work at the Research Institute, the more I learned that the people here truly embody the Marianist spirit and work passionately to make the world a better and safer place. Q: What is the most valuable lesson that you've learned during your career? There’s nothing like face-to-face communication. Our employee population has nearly tripled since I started, and we work in so many locations in and out of Ohio, so we’ve had to adopt electronic communication as the norm. But if you really want to get to the heart of someone’s story, you have to sit down with them, in person or at least over the phone.

Do you still remember your first day at a new job? 😬 I was so nervous back then… Every time someone asked me a question, I kept thinking, “I should already know this!” I imagine Florian, who just started his training as a warehouse logistics specialist with us, feels the same way right now. 🎒 But here’s the thing: That nervousness? It’s the clearest sign you’re stepping into something new and challenging. At Elektra, we firmly believe: “No problem is too small, no question is too silly!” Because starting a career isn’t a sprint—it’s a marathon… (And yes, sometimes you trip over your own shoelaces along the way.) 🙃 I’m proud that Florian has trusted us to guide him on this journey. This isn’t just about the future of Elektra—it’s about what defines us as a team. So, how was your first day? Nervous? Chaotic? And a big “thumbs up” for all the Florians out there taking their first brave step! 💪 #industry #teamwork #employees #firstday

As I inch closer and closer to my 2 year anniversary of working professionally (less than 2 weeks away now!) I wanted to use today’s post to tell you all what inspired me to even share some of my biggest takeaways from my career thus far. For me, in all honesty, I used to be a bit intimidated to post on LinkedIn😅 I felt as if I didn’t have a super huge accomplishment to share— a promotion, a graduation or the like— or if I wasn’t absolutely winning at everything in my life, I didn’t have much to say on this platform. And while I’ve certainly had many wins and career highlights, I’ve also experienced some lower, difficult moments in my career as well. I thought to myself, LinkedIn wasn’t the place to share those kinds of thoughts, so I never did. But I think I had to re-learn, both at work and here using this online platform, when and how to use my voice. If you know me, than you know I’m an outgoing, talkative person, but even I have still found it tough at times knowing how to speak about my career experiences. I recently started reading What Do You Need? by Lauren Wesley Wilson (a fellow St. Louis native I have to add💐). In her book, she aims to help give women of color the tools and insights needed to grow in their careers. This book was one of the things that inspired me to share more about myself and my career on LinkedIn. I love how she clearly and concisely put together so many actionable steps for her readers, many of which were derived from her own lived experience. But her journey wasn’t an easy, carefree stroll in the park and she shared those truths on paper as well. Despite that, she’s been able to write about moments from her career— the great and not as great ones— to then put together career tips and inspire others through her wisdom. And so I said to myself, “It’s ok that every day isn’t ‘perfect’ and that some days aren’t easy, but what are you going to do to make those days better and happen less often?” Just like how I can openly talk about my wins, I can still be honest if I’m having tougher days. Sometimes work is hard! It’s ok to say that out loud. But after doing so, what are you going to do about it? Now, I’m intentionally choosing to be solution oriented so I can continue to have more brighter days. Acknowledgment then action— that’s my plan. In addition that, I decided to share more about my career journey with others. My hope is that others who see my post(s) feel seen and know that they’re not alone🫂 You don’t have to have everything figured out and the “perfect” life to post on here or talk about your experiences with others. You can share your truth no matter what it looks like. And then, when you’re ready, you make the next move by taking the necessary steps to get to where you want to be✨ #earlycareer #careerdevelopment #careerjourney

10 years!!?? 🤯 I would have never believed... A simple advertising in a random job finder site (that does not exist anymore). It was only one title: "Community Manager", no description, no information about the company. I thought: "Yeah, I guess I can do that, let's try and see..." Well, I tried hard, and I saw! Before joining Schneider Electric, my aspirations for my career were limited, I was not expecting much. The day I joined, I understood that the possibilities and opportunities were huge!! I can do so many different jobs, I can live in different countries, I can grow to the hierarchy or I can become an expert, or even both! In 10 years, within the same company, I had 5 different roles, lived in 3 differrent countries, learned 3 new languages. But the top of the top is not that, the craziest ever is the number of amazing talented people I meet everyday at my job, I learned from them, we shared our knowledge and we have such good memories together and many became life long friends 💚 At 24, I thought I had a plan, but this is between the lines that life happened, So I can't predict what the next 10 years will be, but I will keep building my plan so the magic can keep happening in between 😉
