Do you run a brick-and-mortar business with products that are either perishable? Here is a tip to help you minimize potential losses: Invest in a backup generator. In the state of Michigan we've had a lot of power outages lately. A lot of insurance companies are starting to require business owners to get a generator if they have the potential for a spoilage loss over $50,000. If you have multiple claims due to spoilage, some insurance companies are now requiring that you get a generator if you want to keep that spoilage coverage. This helps to protect you and mitigate your losses, helping to keep your premiums lower. Let's chat about how you can better protect yourself and your business. #BusinessSafety #InsuranceTips #MichiganBusiness #ProtectYourBusiness

Do you have replacement cost coverage on your roof? Are you sure? Because I've talked to more than one person in the last week who was certain they had "good coverage," only for us to discover while reviewing their current declarations pages that they had actual cash value roof "coverage" (i.e. The insurance company can subtract depreciated value instead of paying the full price to replace the roof). imagine having hail damage from one of the recent storms and filing a claim to replace your $15k roof... only to receive a check for $5k from insurance because your agent switched your coverage to ACV without your knowledge to save a few bucks on your premium. I'd be livid. Let me take a second look at your policies and help you get better insurance.

🛠️ When repairing property damage, the ability to match new materials with existing ones is crucial for maintaining your home's aesthetics and value. But, what if your insurance policy has caps on matching? Many policies do, which might limit the amount they'll cover, potentially leaving you with mismatched materials unless you cover the difference. 💡Getting clarity on this before you file a claim can prepare you for the process and help you negotiate better with your insurance provider. 🔎 Need clarity on your policy? At Five Star Claims Adjusting, we help homeowners understand their coverage and ensure they receive fair treatment from their insurance. 🚗 Was your vehicle deemed a total loss after an accident? You don’t have to settle for less! If your insurance company’s total loss estimate seems lower than the true value of your vehicle, you have the right to contest it. 🛑 Don’t rush to accept the first offer. With the help of an attorney, you could potentially increase the payout for your totaled vehicle. 💼 You may even be able to revisit claims from accidents that happened years ago. Here are the steps: 1. 🔍 Review the insurance company's estimate 2. 📊 Provide evidence supporting a higher value 3. 🤝 Negotiate for a fair settlement Don’t let your insurance company undervalue your loss. #AutoInsurance #TotalLoss #LegalHelp #FairCompensation #Attorney #InsuranceClaims

Mitigation is all about minimizing losses in reasonable ways when accidents happen. It's crucial to understand this concept to navigate insurance claims effectively. 📖 🔹What does it involve? Mitigation tactics include renting a replacement truck, involving your insurance, or paying for repairs yourself to get back on the road ASAP. 💡Fun fact: You don't have to succeed in mitigating your losses; you need to demonstrate you made reasonable attempts in most states. 🔹Who's responsible? Both owner-operators and fleets have a role to play in mitigation. Whether you're an owner-operator or a fleet owner, knowing how to mitigate can save you time, money, and headaches!
