Just one of those weeks... Data Analysis is not only about tools, or working on complex SQL queries, Python models, PowerBI reports Sometimes, you will just be working on creating presentations and decks, that have nothing to do with these tools but still hold great value. I don't like making presentations, but I still like seeing them... #data #strategy #dataanalytics
It’s funny and it’s true 😂 However, sometimes you need to sell your job and what you are doing, and usually this happens via presentations and storytelling
+ MS Teams
In 2023, there was an enitre month that I JUST worked on decks and nothing else. Can't say I miss that
This is like every Head of Data/ CDO job lmao. Love this Talha Khan, and hope you have optimised PPT to build presos fast!
PPT is the tool to communicate with the business / investors. If you don’t do this enough, you should doubt if you are delivering actual value for the business.
I know someone who used to work in pharma market research consulting - she'd often quip - "We just got paid a couple hundred thousand dollars for that PowerPoint deck."
Personally I think presentations are the most important part of the analysis process. Sharing your findings in a way your stakeholders will appreciate is key. How you present your insights may influence how stakeholders act on your findings. After the hardwork is done using SQL, Python,R etc. Data analysts should put in much effort into presenting insights in a simple and clear format for stakeholders to grasp and Microsoft PowerPoint is one of the best tools to use.
To think I was once attacked by HR for not understanding "unit tests", but somehow managed to get a patent with back-of-a-napkin math? It would be truly wild what could happen if folks became champions for ethical innovation!
