Hiring Decisions: Should I use a Recruiter or Staffing Agency to Hire? This is a good read for HR Manager or technical hiring managers who are looking to hire their next talent. In my personal view, a staffing agency is useful in the following instances:- 1. LinkedIN is effective in attracting active candidates who are in-between jobs or are actively looking for a change in their career. But it is ineffective when it come to passive candidates. Recruiters are good in discovering passive candidates. 2. When company has more open job positions than the internal recruitment team can handle, it is a good to outsource the unfulfilled positions to staffing agency. The cost of unfulfilled critical positions can be higher than the service fee payable. 3. Instead of being bombarded with hundreds or thousands of un-sorted CVs, recruitment company will always pre-screen and conduct qualifying interview before surfacing the candidates to their clients. This result in time saving on the hiring manager. 4. When you are looking to hire from a location that you are unfamiliar with, then it is advisable to engage the right recruitment company who has the local knowledge.
