Referrals don't always work out well. Sometimes they come with disastrous results. That is why I learn to fact-check my referrals. This is not to discount them but to ensure they are safe to work with. Companies shouldn't let their guard down when considering hiring referrals. Due diligence...that's what I'm saying. #Recruitment #Referrals

Sometimes it's not you, it's them! Referrals often hold significant weight during the hiring process. Hiring managers tend to prioritize candidates who have been endorsed, as referrals come with a level of trust and credibility. There's probably little you could have done differently—hiring managers may simply lean towards choosing referrals.

I love when you learn something new before 9am. I just wrapped a call with David Folwell over at Staffing Referrals and learned 2 things. 1. Staffing Referrals also has a consulting service that helps your staffing and/or Recruiting business create, implement, and optimize a referral program. 2. #1 is only more relevant based on a recent case study they completed... that case study found Talent sourced via referral worked an average of 5 months more than talent from other sources, which led to an additional $20k per placement. This is the year of optimization, so let's get more per placement. So explain why you don't have a Referral Program again?! 🚀 Update: David thought it was silly I didn't have a referral link since its a referral platform so my Staffing Referrals link is in the comments.

I still cant go over this stat I read the other day about the job market. "1% of the candidate pool are referrals. 30% of new hires are referrals." Despite referrals being only 1% of the candidate pool, they constitute 30% of all new hires! What does this mean: USE YOUR NETWORK!! We’ve made additional $100k+ in placements fees this quarter with referrals by simply asking for them.. For Candidates “Does anyone else come to mind for this opportunity?” For Companies “Who else do you know in your network that would possibly have a need for someone like this?” Referrals are the easiest ways to get passive talent and warm introductions to grow your book of business. Most recruiters never ask for candidate referrals. A huge mistake 👇 → Referred candidates are hired 55% faster than those from job boards or career sites → They're 4x more likely to be hired than non-referred candidates → Referrals account for 30% of all hires but 45% of hires that stay with the company for three years or more → Retention rates are 20% higher for referred employees → Companies can save up to £6,000 per hire by leveraging referrals → The best recruiters have always relied on referrals to build strong pipelines, fill roles faster, and improve client satisfaction. Recruiters, HR, People managers - What used to be a nice-to-have is now a must-have strategy. If you’re not using referrals, you risk falling behind in 2025. Especially as efficiency and retention become more crucial in a competitive hiring market. Start asking. Start growing. #CandidateReferrals #Referrals #Retention #Recruitment #TalentAcquisition

While referrals are often praised as a valuable tool, understanding where to best utilize them is very important. In large corporations with structured hiring processes, referrals may not have a significant impact. However, in small to mid-level companies, referrals can be very helpful. Here's why: - Personal Connection: Referrers in smaller firms are likely individuals you'll directly collaborate with, making their endorsement highly influential. - Streamlined Process: Smaller companies typically have more flexible hiring procedures, allowing referrals to expedite your application. - Insider Knowledge: Referrers can provide crucial insights into company culture and expectations. To enhance the effectiveness of referrals, consider focusing on connections at smaller organizations rather than acquaintances at larger tech corporations. 🤝 #jobsearch #referrals #careeradvice #networking #datanalysis #interview
