LinkedIn's Easy Apply. Is it really EASY? In a way it is easy because your basic information on LinkedIn is preloaded. ✅This means you need to maintain an updated LinkedIn profile, or the information that is parsed through won't be the best or relevant at all. ✅You still need a CV as part of the application process, so it makes sense to invest time to build a credible CV that highlights your milestone achievements (which are usually not shared on LinkedIn). Don't skim on this. Your CV is the key to opportunities. ✅ Cover letter. If you have one, you can add in during the Easy Apply process. It's optional but if you decide to include, please don't send a generic version. High chance you may overlook and end up not removing certain irrelevant details that were meant for a previous application. Conclusion -> Easy Apply requires you keep in tip top condition for your CV and LinkedIn profile, the two cornerstones for modern career people. #EasyApply #LinkedIn #CV #LinkedInProfile #Coaching

Perfect CV vs. Perfect LinkedIn profile: Which Matters More? If you're looking for a job, you've probably asked yourself - should I focus more on perfecting my CV or my LinkedIn profile? Both are essential tools, but their impact is slightly different. Scenario 1: The perfect CV A well-crafted CV is like your passport - it gets you in the door. A recruiter or hiring manager takes one look at it and decides within seconds whether you're right for the job. Your CV focuses solely on your qualifications, experience and skills. It's specific, formal and often leaves little room for your personality to shine through. Scenario 2: The perfect LinkedIn profile Now imagine LinkedIn - this is your stage. It not only showcases your experience but also your network, your industry contributions and your personal brand. It's a dynamic portfolio that speaks volumes about you beyond the bullet points on a CV. What's more, it's interactive - recruiters can reach out to *you*, and your activity can organically attract opportunities. The lesson here? You need both. While the CV may get you the interview, your LinkedIn profile is often the key to your ongoing professional development. Which are you focusing on right now? #CareerDevelopment #CVWriting #LinkedInOptimisation #PreciousAkindeseptemberlinkedinchallenge

Although I still see one from time to time, it’s rare to see a CV these days with references listing people’s contact details or even the much beloved term ‘References available upon request’. However, although they may be old-fashioned and not that relevant these days, the principle of third-party endorsement is good and can be helpful on your CV. “But how can I incorporate that into my CV?” You may ask. "LinkedIn recommendations!" say I. You may (or may not) be aware of this section at the bottom of your LinkedIn profile where you can ask your connections for a recommendation (aka a reference within the LinkedIn platform in old money). LinkedIn recommendations demonstrate social proof and currency on the platform and can be an effective weapon in your CV (and LinkedIn) armoury. Some people’s recommendations can be quite long, so just edit the one you think would be most appropriate to your targeted role to 2-3 lines of the CV. If I include it, I put it below the profile/summary. Remember that like all things on LinkedIn/social media, the more active you are, the more the algorithm increases your profile on the platform and asking for, getting and giving recommendations can help. Don’t be shy to ask. LinkedIn is a safe space and is designed for this kind of interaction. Does your CV work? An informative resume and LinkedIn profile are crucial, especially in today's competitive job market. Here are three tips to help you stand out: ✅ Go beyond regurgitating your job spec. Highlight your impact—less on what you did, more on why and how. Showcase your value-add to employers in a succinct and compelling way. ✅ You have a few seconds to capture the employer's attention. Use these opportunities to emphasize your expertise by connecting your achievements and skills directly to the job requirements. Quality over quantity. ✅ Develop a professional and consistent LinkedIn profile that enhances your personal brand and attracts the right opportunities. It's a separate opportunity from your CV to tell your career story and engage potential employers. 👉 Click here to discover more: https://lnkd.in/e6cgzYtk #CareerDevelopment #CVWriting #LinkedInOptimization

📄 LinkedIn vs. Resume: Understanding the Differences and Importance 📄 Your LinkedIn profile and resume are both essential tools in your job search, but they serve different purposes. Here’s how they differ and why both are important: 1. Broad vs. Specific: 🌐 LinkedIn provides a broad overview of your professional experience, allowing you to showcase a wider range of skills and accomplishments. Your resume, on the other hand, should be tailored specifically to the job you’re applying for. 2. Professional Network: 🤝 LinkedIn connects you with your network, enabling you to engage with industry peers, join groups, and share insights. Your resume is a standalone document, focusing solely on your qualifications. 3. Dynamic vs. Static: 🔄 LinkedIn is a living document that you can update regularly with new skills, endorsements, and achievements. Your resume is typically static, designed for a specific role or job application. 4. Visibility: 🌟 LinkedIn increases your visibility to recruiters and potential employers, while your resume is shared selectively when you apply for a job. 5. Personal Branding: 💼 LinkedIn allows you to build and manage your personal brand, showcasing your expertise through posts, articles, and recommendations. Understanding the differences between LinkedIn and your resume is key to leveraging both effectively in your career strategy. #JobSearch #LinkedInTips #ResumeWriting #CareerDevelopment #GPINC

Your LinkedIn Page is your virtual CV. People like me (and people directly hiring) will land on your page and have a good old snoop around. 🧐 Even if you're not "active" in looking for a new job, I'd suggest keeping your page up to date, looking good and a true reflection of you and your personality. You never know what opportunities will come knocking, don't be discounted by not having an up-to-date profile. I've written a blog on updating your CV (https://lnkd.in/eF__mEa6) Maybe I should do one for your LinkedIn profile?

From CV to LinkedIn: Creating a Cohesive Professional Profile When you're chasing a new job, your CV and LinkedIn are your heavy hitters. Here are some key strategies to help you stand out and build trust with recruiters: 1. Align the details on Your CV and LinkedIn profile because: - Conflicting information between CV and LinkedIn profile – A big red flag - Signals of mistrust and carelessness 2. Optimizing the "About" Section on LinkedIn I've observed that many candidates either overlook the "About" section on LinkedIn or fill it with insignificant details, missing the opportunity to make a strong impression. 3. Create a well-formatted CV as Only a few seconds are spent on each CV hence key skills, recent experience, and contact details must be mentioned on the first page of your CV. 4. Unpopular Opinion: Include Irrelevant Experience While conventional wisdom suggests leaving out irrelevant experiences, there are times when it can be beneficial to include them ( I understand that opinions may vary). The key is to present this experience in a way that adds value to your application, rather than cluttering it. TO BE CONTINUED...........THE NEXT POST IS COMING SOON....

I prefer scrolling a well constructed LinkedIn profile than reading through a CV. Often the first thing I do when someone sends me a CV is to open up their LinkedIn profile and check out their page. It gives me a quick measure of career trajectory, company background, technologies and quick links to personal websites/hubs etc. I find it a much easier to gauge someone before I cross reference the info with their CV. The standardised format also helps me eliminate bias to a degree…
